Dugie's Desert gives the Deserts in Minecraft the additions they deserved!
What's surfaced?

One of the first things you'll see when you enter the desert will be tall palm trees, small boulders of Calcrete and swarms of yucca and cacti.
Tall and Tedious

The Palm Tree is the most eye catching thing you'll see when you step foot in a desert. It's tall structure can be noticed from miles and with it brings coconuts!
Every tree yields 4 coconuts, if you caught them at a mature age and if you're able to reach them you can have more fun than you should with it.
Cnock' Cnock'!
There's two things you can do with coconuts, throw them or eat them.
To eat the coconut you'll first need to find a hard surface. Sand won't cut it maybe the side of the tree will? Throw it at the surface and it'll crack open into two yummy coconuts. Just don't throw it at glass...

However, if you're not hungry you can throw coconuts at mobs or your friends! Not certain about the friends part since I don't have any but mobs for sure!
As a matter of fact, husks also like Coconuts too! So much they'll want to share them with you; aggressively!

Interestingly enough if a husk sees a coconut nearby it will pick it up and chuck at the player, coconuts deal a full heart of damage and it scales with distance. Maybe I'll play catch with a husk sometime!
Oh! How could I forget? Coconuts can be grown. You need a fruit stalk and a log placed underneath and eventually you'll get coconuts, cool right?

It's Ruined!

What did you do!?
I'm kidding, but look there's ruins, desert ones! They generate of course in deserts and if you brought a brush you can get various loot that honestly isn't the best. But there is something from them you can get that's pretty cool!
Grills ie'

The Grille is a Mechanical Block that acts as a sift for entities, items or nothing. Grilles are crafted with 8 sticks and 1 string. They are also found in Desert Ruins which justifies the structure's existence.
Grilles besides being decorational can be interacted with to switch between states:
Netted: Allows only items to pass through. Can still slow entities to stand or walk against it.
Open: Allows anything through, completely passable.
Shut: Allows nothing through, acts as a solid object.
Grillies also accept redstone! If one grille is connected to a lever, redstone or even a redstone block; it and all connected grillies in a 16x16 radius will change it's state to the next state. If it were netted it would then become opened. Grillies cannot change states if connected or if a relative is connected to Redstone.
Heart of Gold
Gold now has it's own doors, trapdoors, bars, lantern and grate! Now it's way more easier to build with. Not like anyone ever used it.
Concre- no Calcrete!

Calcrete is a new kind of stoney-soil you can find throughout the desert which can be turnt into bricand deepslks, slabs and whatever else I can't remember look at the image. Wait is that a husk's fac-
Ooo a cave!
Underground in a desert you'll surely find yourself a sandstone cave! A mix of sandstone, Calcrete and Deepslate.
I can't see, like at all actually, what the hell is th-

The last one on this list is a new weather type called a Sandstorm.
Traditional Sandstorms at most made it harder to see when traversing through it but it's way worse now.
When a Sandstorm starts your screen becomes foggy and dust starts to fly by and on top of it all your movements become slightly hindered making movement amazing! Though seeking shelter also helps.
In a Sandstorm no matter what time you'll find husks and parched generate way more frequently. They're also not affected at all by the storm meaning they'll see you before you see them and they'll reach you before you reach them...
