DefensiveTreesAddon1.0.11.mcaddon
What's new
A big update: two brand-new helper trees, a rebuilt Ent and Grove Keeper, a smarter XP Willow, and a much bigger, easier-to-use in-game guide.
New
Healing Tree — the Medic Bear
- Plant a Healing Tree sapling (white bark, red-cross scar). A blocky Medic Bear steps out beside it and stays near the tree.
- Every 2 seconds the bear heals one heart on up to 12 friendly creatures within 10 blocks: tamed pets and tamed mounts (dogs, wolves, cats, parrots, horses, donkeys, mules, llamas, camels and more), saddled animals, villagers and iron golems.
- It never heals players, hostile mobs, wild animals or other tree helpers. The bear can't be hurt, and the tree brings it back if it's ever lost.
- Healing Tree wood, planks, leaves, saplings and recipes included. Saplings can be bought from the Grove Keeper.
Last Rations Crate — Acorn Soldiers
- Plant a Last Rations sapling. Beside the trunk stands a supply crate, guarded by chunky Acorn Soldiers who parachute down from the canopy on a leaf parachute.
- Three soldier types:
- Acorn Trooper — 12-block range, advances on mobs.
- Acorn Sergeant — 14-block range, advances on mobs.
- Acorn Heavy Gunner — 16-block range, fires 3-shot bursts, holds position.
- +75% damage over the first version: Trooper 5.25, Sergeant 7, Heavy Gunner 3.5 per shot (burst of three = 10.5). Fire rates unchanged.
- A Trooper drops when the tree grows. When a hostile mob comes within 24 blocks of the crate, more soldiers drop in, up to a squad of 4 (Trooper, Sergeant, Heavy Gunner, Trooper).
- Soldiers shoot hostile mobs only — never players, pets, villagers or golems — and can't be hurt. Daytime: Sergeants and Heavy Gunners only stay on duty while a hostile is around; extras pack up after a calm spell and one Trooper always stays on guard.
- Tap the crate to receive a few rations (bread, cooked chicken, apples), once per in-game day per player.
- Rations wood, planks, leaves, saplings and recipes included. Saplings can be bought from the Grove Keeper.
XP Willow now repairs gear
- Every 30 seconds the willow spends XP from its bank to repair gear, 2 durability per XP, at most 10 XP per chest and per player each cycle.
- Chests / barrels touching the trunk: any damaged tool, weapon or armor inside is repaired, Mending or not.
- Players standing within 6 blocks of the trunk: only items with Mending are repaired (inventory, hotbar, armor and offhand). Plain gear is never touched.
- One item per container / player per cycle, Mending items first, then the most damaged.
- Green sparkle particles show where something was repaired, and the player sees an action-bar message with the XP spent and what is left in the tree.
- Nothing is repaired when the tree's XP bank is empty.
Guide grown to 58 pages
- New guide pages for the Healing Tree and Last Rations, plus updated Ent, Keeper, XP Willow and Rations text. The guide has grown from 51 to 58 pages.
- Controller support: turn pages with LB / RB (left / right bumper).
Changed
New Ent
- Completely rebuilt model and texture with real lantern eyes.
- Bigger hit box: 1.5 wide × 6 tall, so the whole Ent is easy to tap.
- The Ent now stays with you. It no longer walks home by itself — no return after fights, long walks, distance, portals, idle time, day or night. It goes home only when you cycle it to Patrol (tap the Ent: Follow → Stay → Patrol; Patrol walks it back to its home tree), or when you log out.
- If you wander too far or leave the dimension, the Ent simply stands where it is and follows again when you return within 16 blocks.
- On logout the Ent is removed cleanly and the tree puts a fresh one at its home — no duplicates, no stray Ent left when you rejoin.
- Creepers never explode when the Ent strikes them. A creeper hit by a stomp, slam or swing has its fuse stopped, any queued blast cancelled, and it fizzes away — no explosion, no fire, no block or player damage.
New Grove Keeper
- Rebuilt model and texture: layered leaf cloak, small lantern eyes, a single thin golden sash over one shoulder, and a belt with buckle.
- Keeper trades now include the Healing Tree and Last Rations saplings.
Fixed
- Guide crash fixed — the guide form was reworked so it opens reliably.
- Guide page graphics fixed — all pages redrawn and corrected.
Notes
- This update adds new blocks, items, entities and recipes; update both packs together (the .mcaddon contains the Behavior Pack and the Resource Pack).
