Whats up guys Racing Raftaar here back with another massive addon for your survival and multiplayer realms. So I was playing on a realm with my friends the other day and I realized that everyone looks exactly the same. Vanilla minecraft chat is also super boring because there are no prefixes or ranks unless you use crazy command block setups which always break.
I wanted people to actually have an identity on the server based on what they like doing. So i spent a lot of time coding this Custom Ranks and Chat behavior pack. It basically tracks your playstyle and gives you cool colored ranks above your head and in the chat.
The Skill System
So how do you actually get a rank? Well you have to earn it by playing the game. I added four different skills that track everything you do. First is the Lumberjack skill which gives you xp for chopping oak spruce cherry or any other wood. Second is the Miner skill which levels up when you break stone deepslate or any ores like iron and diamonds.
Third is the Slayer skill. If you are someone who loves fighting zombies creepers or hunting the ender dragon this skill will level up super fast. And the last one is the Farmer skill which you get by harvesting crops like wheat and potatoes. You literally just play survival normally and the game tracks your xp in the background.
Ranking Up and Rewards
As you get more xp your rank goes up. Each skill has 50 levels and 11 different custom rank titles. For example if you mine a lot you start as a Newbie then you become an Iron Miner, Diamond Finder and eventually the Earth God at max level. The color of your rank also gets cooler as you progress. But ranks are not just for showing off.
Every time you level up by 5 ranks the game actually rewards you with free items. You get iron ingots early on and then it gives you free diamonds and emeralds at higher ranks. If you actually manage to hit level 50 in a skill it announces your mastery to the whole server and you get a prestige star.
Name Tags and Nicknames
The coolest part about this pack is the live name tag feature. The game automatically finds your highest level skill and displays that rank right above your head for everyone to see. But I know a lot of people hate their xbox gamertags and want to change them. So I added a custom nickname feature. You can open the menu and type in a 12 character nickname for yourself.
Your name tag will immediately update to show your rank and your new nickname. I also added a display mode setting so if you want to hide your rank and just show your nickname you can do that easily.
The Custom Chat System
Because vanilla chat is hard to modify I built a completely custom chat composer. When you join the world you get a Chat Book. If you sneak and use this book it opens a text box on your screen. You just type your message there and hit send.
The game will broadcast your message to the entire server with your colored rank and your nickname attached to it. It looks so clean and professional compared to normal chat.
Controls and UI Menus
I made sure you dont have to type any commands to use this pack. When you first spawn in you get a Clock a Book and a Stick. If you sneak and use the clock it opens the main UI menu where you can change your nickname and display settings.
If you just use the clock normally it opens the stats page where you can see your exact xp progress for all four skills. Sneaking with the stick also opens the settings just in case you lose your clock.
Beta APIs Setup
Since this addon uses dynamic properties to save your exact xp and custom nicknames permanently and relies heavily on custom ui menus you absolutely must turn on the Beta APIs experiment in your world settings.
If you dont turn it on none of the menus will open and the xp tracking wont work at all so please remember to do this before creating your world.
