What's new

## 1.8.9

### Summary

**Your team, in plain sight.** Holding a Team Ball in your hand brings up a side panel displaying your six Pokémon—showing their portrait, name, level, and health. Crouching allows you to cycle through them, and you can now have **up to six Pokémon out at once** in companion mode. When you aim at a wild Pokémon, its name appears above its head; if you have never encountered it before, **question marks** are displayed instead.

**Nearly two hundred new blocks.** These include 85 potted plants—one for each type of Berry, Mint, Apricorn, and Sweet—as well as Tumblestone crafted into slabs, stairs, walls, and carved variants across all three colors. Also added are 16 colored plates, nine mod-specific flowers, Mint-leaf ground cover, gates, trapdoors, and doors made from Apricorn and Sweet materials, plus the Gimmighoul Chest—which looks like a golden chest on the outside, but not on the inside.

**The world now feels much closer to the original.** Cobblemon ruins, which previously appeared once every 714 chunks, now appear **once every 92 chunks**—the mod’s intended frequency. This change also introduces eleven structures that previously failed to generate. The number of evolution stone ores has increased from three to ten, with each now featuring a Deepslate variant.

**Improved world loading.** In version 1.8.8, the add-on could take too long to load, causing the game to cut it off after ten seconds—resulting in a world where none of the mod’s blocks or items functioned. The pack’s scripts have now been streamlined, reducing their size from 10.5 MB to 8 MB, ensuring they load well within the time limit.

### Details

**Team and companions**
- Side panel displaying the portrait, level, and health bar for each of your six Pokémon; It opens when
carrying the "Equipo Ball" (Team Ball) and remains hidden during combat.
- Crouching while holding the ball cycles through your entire team, skipping any fainted Pokémon.
- Up to six Pokémon can be out at once. The interaction menu works for any of them—not just the currently selected one—and held items are no longer lost when a Pokémon changes form.
- A label appears above a Pokémon's head when you aim at it. For wild Pokémon not yet in your Pokédex, the name, gender, shiny status, and "alpha" status remain hidden.
- In the interaction wheel, actions a Pokémon **cannot perform** are now displayed in gray; previously, the button looked the same but simply wouldn't respond.

**Capturing and Throwing**
- The ball travels toward the target in an **arc** rather than a straight line—it rises more than one block high and takes about a second to reach its destination, regardless of whether you are aiming from near or far.
- The beam connecting the Pokémon to the ball is **red** (matching the mod); previously, it would take on the color of the specific ball being used.
- Releasing a Pokémon from an "Equipo Ball" near a tree no longer leaves it stuck inside the trunk or foliage; it will instead find the nearest available open space on the ground.

**Blocks**
- 85 potted plants, each featuring the model from the mod. These are crafted at a workbench by combining a flower pot with the corresponding plant.
- 28 pieces of carved "tumblestone" and 23 types of evolutionary stone ore—including deepslate variants and three special types hidden within "gotelita" (speckled stone), Netherrack, and terracotta. - 16 colored plates, 6 mint-leaf clusters, 9 decorative flowers —Lobaila, Lucibell, Hojaniebla, Pa'uvillea, Pomohana, Verdirraíz, Voltaconia, Wistensu, and the Great Root—, a bale of grain, a damaged monitor, and three items that can now be placed on the ground.
- Gates, trapdoors, and doors made of Apricorn (bonguri) and Saccharina wood. **These are opened manually** via a right-click; as add-on blocks, they do not interact with Redstone.
- Gimmighoul Chest: Identical to a golden chest; opening it—or breaking it—causes the Pokémon to emerge.

**World and Structures**
- Ruins have returned to their original mod-defined spawn frequency and are distributed across their seven original grids, each with its own weighting—rare ruins are once again rare.
- Eleven structures that previously failed to generate: the two reclaimed monuments, the frozen altar, the old garden, the submerged forge, the meteorite battlefield, the ruins of the overrun trial, the ancient dais, the desert monument, the lush monument, and the sun-shadowed ruins.
- Fossil deposits: These no longer generate floating above water or buried underground; speleothems no longer appear upside down, and Galar-region fossils now spawn in their correct locations.
- Slate-crystal cores: Veins now grow and emerge within caves.

**Items and Recipes**
- Eleven new recipes: the Ability Capsule, the nine vitamins, and the Sprayer. These are crafted in the **Cauldron** rather than the Brewing Stand—the Bedrock version of the Brewing Stand only accepts actual potions in its slots. - Each Pokémon is born with one of its abilities randomly assigned, and 5% of the time, with its hidden ability.
