RR Chain Reforged v2.0.0 - The Ultimate Lightweight Armor

Hey everyone! Let's be honest, Chain Armor is probably the most useless gear in vanilla Minecraft. You cannot even craft it natively. By the time you finally find a broken chain chestplate in a buried treasure chest or a zombie drop, you usually already have a full set of Iron or Diamond armor. It just ends up sitting in a chest or on an armor stand as a useless trophy. I wanted to change this completely.

I created the RR Chain Reforged Addon to turn this forgotten trash-tier loot into the absolute best lightweight combat set in the game. For Version 2.0.0, I have completely rewritten the armor detection system. This is not just a basic recipe tweak; it is a full RPG-style armor overhaul. Best of all, this is the Full Access Edition. Every single magical buff, custom HUD feature, and server leaderboard is 100% unlocked for everyone right from the start!

The Iron Nugget Crafting System

Let's talk about early-game survival progression. Finding enough iron to craft a full armor set and tools on your first day can be tough. Instead of wasting 24 full Iron Ingots on heavy armor, this addon introduces custom crafting recipes that allow you to forge Chain Armor using basic Iron Nuggets.

Since one single iron ingot breaks down into 9 iron nuggets, you can craft an entire set of Chain Armor with just a tiny fraction of the iron you would normally need. You just place the nuggets in the standard armor patterns (Helmet, Chestplate, Leggings, Boots) on a regular Crafting Table. It is the perfect, incredibly cheap early-game gear to keep you safe on your first night.

The Full Set Bonuses (Instant Activation)

But why wear Chain instead of Iron? Because Chain is a tactical, lightweight alloy! The custom script constantly runs in the background, checking your equipment slots. The exact moment you equip all 4 pieces of the Chain set, you will hear a heavy armor equipping sound effect, and you will instantly unlock four massive permanent buffs. No enchanting table required!

• Speed I: Chain armor is light, meaning you get a constant movement speed boost. You can easily outrun Creepers, dodge Skeleton arrows, and run circles around players wearing heavy diamond gear in PvP.
• Jump Boost I: This is a brand new feature for this update. You can now jump over fences and scale rough mountain terrain with absolute ease.
• Resistance I: Even though chain armor has lower base defense than iron, this heavy damage reduction buff allows you to absorb massive hits from hostile mobs without losing too much health.
• Fire Resistance: This is what makes the set legendary. Chain Reforged is the ultimate Nether exploration suit. Wearing the full set grants you complete immunity to fire and lava damage. You can literally fall off a fortress bridge and swim safely in a lava lake without taking a single heart of damage.

Live Durability HUD & Combat Tracking

In vanilla Minecraft Bedrock, you cannot see exactly how much durability your armor has left unless you open your inventory and guess by looking at the small green bar. I built a custom Action Bar HUD that sits cleanly at the bottom of your screen during gameplay.

This HUD shows you the exact percentage of your armor's health. The text uses a smart color-coded indicator system: Green means your armor is highly durable, Yellow means it is taking moderate damage, and Red is an urgent warning that your gear is about to break. It also features a Live Damage Blocked Counter, which actively counts exactly how many enemy hits your armor has successfully absorbed during your current combat session.

In-Game Recipe Viewer & Leaderboards

I hate forcing players to close their game to look up crafting recipes on a wiki. If you forget how to craft the armor pieces, just hold a standard Book in your hand, Sneak (crouch), and click the screen. This opens the Stats Panel, which includes an incredibly clean Visual Recipe Viewer showing the exact ASCII crafting grids for all 4 pieces.

If you play on a multiplayer Realm, the Stats Panel also tracks your dedication. It silently records the exact amount of minutes you spend wearing the full chain set and how many times you have equipped it. You can view the Live Server Leaderboard to see the Top 5 players ranked by total wear time, adding a fun competitive element to your survival world.

Admin Controls & Customization

Server admins have total control over the addon. By holding a Name Tag and Sneaking, you can open the Admin Panel. From here, you can use the quick "Give Chain Set" button to instantly equip yourself, or use the brand new "Repair Armor" button to instantly restore your durability with a satisfying anvil sound effect.

You can also completely customize your personal experience. Use the settings toggles to turn the Bonus Chat Alerts ON or OFF, hide the Action Bar HUD if you want a cleaner screen, and toggle all the custom audio cues.
