Better WayStones a fast, feature-rich waystone addon for Minecraft Bedrock, survival-balanced, multiplayer-ready, and completely free.
What is Better WayStones?
Better WayStones lets you craft, place, and teleport between named waypoints anywhere in your world. Walk up to one, interact with it, and jump to any other waystone you have access to. No commands, no cheats, no fuss. Private, public, and team visibility modes keep things organized whether you're playing solo, with friends, or on a large server.
Key Features
- Visibility modes - Mark waystones as Private, Public, or Team-only. Teams use simple player tags, no extra addons needed.
- Optional discovery - Server owners can require players to walk near a public waystone before it shows up in their list, so exploration is rewarded. Range is adjustable.
- Favorites, filters & search - Pin your most-used waystones, filter by Private, Public, Team or Favorites, and search by name. Long lists are split into pages.
- XP cost & upgrade discounts - Teleporting costs XP based on distance. Owners can invest an Iron, Diamond, or Netherite block to discount the cost for everyone, all the way to free with Netherite.
- Owner menu - Sneak + interact with your own waystone to rename it, change its visibility, upgrade it, set its color and icon, or remove it.
- Portable items - Craft a Warpstone (16-use teleporter to your last waystone) or a Return Scroll (single-use return ticket to your last departure point).
- Natural generation - Waystone shrines generate naturally across the Overworld. The first player to find one sets it up and names it.
- Safe placement - If the setup menu is closed or fails to appear, the waystone stays placed. Just interact with it to finish setting it up.
- Full admin panel - Browse every waystone, teleport to any of them, grant a player access, force-delete, and change every global setting in-game.
Crafting
Waystone block - Crying Obsidian (corners) · Amethyst Shard (edges) · Lodestone (center). Unlocks after picking up an Ender Pearl.
Warpstone - 4 Amethyst Shards + Paper + Ender Pearl. Teleports you to your last-used waystone. 16 uses, 60-second cooldown.
Return Scroll (×4) - 8 Paper + Ender Pearl + Amethyst Shard. Returns you to exactly where you last teleported from. Single-use.
XP Costs & Discount Tiers
Same-dimension cost: 1 level per 700 blocks, capped at 3, so short trips are free. Cross-dimension: flat 3 levels. Creative players skip costs by default.
Upgrade tiers: Iron (75% cost), Diamond (50% cost), Netherite (free). Upgrading refunds the previous tier's block, and breaking the waystone drops its current upgrade block, so nothing you invest is ever lost.
Commands (optional)
/scriptevent bws:settings - your personal preferences: sort order, dimension labels, XP cost display, compact buttons/scriptevent bws:list - open your waystone list from anywhere/scriptevent bws:admin - the admin panel (operators only)
Typing these in chat needs cheats enabled, which turns off achievements for that world. Normal waystone use never needs cheats.
Installation
- Download
BetterWayStones.mcaddon and double-click to install.
- In World Settings, activate both the Behavior Pack and Resource Pack.
