What is Better WayStones?

Better WayStones lets you craft, place, and teleport between named waypoints anywhere in your world. Walk up to one, right-click, and instantly jump to any other waystone you've discovered — no commands, no cheats, no fuss. Private, public, and team visibility modes keep things organized whether you're playing solo, with friends, or on a large server.

Key Features

• Discovery system - Public waystones only appear in your list after you walk within 8 blocks of them. Exploration is rewarded.
• Visibility modes - Mark waystones as Private, Public, or Team-only. Team tags use vanilla scoreboard tags, no extra mods needed.
• Favorites, search & pagination - Pin your most-used waystones, filter by category, and search by name with real-time results.
• XP cost & upgrade discounts - Teleporting costs XP based on distance. Owners can invest Iron, Diamond, or Netherite blocks to discount the cost for everyone — all the way to free with Netherite.
• Portable items - Craft a Warpstone (16-use teleporter to your last waystone) or a Return Scroll (single-use return ticket to your last departure point).
• Natural generation - Waystones spawn across all three dimensions, surface-level and biome-aware, pre-registered as public.
• Full admin panel - Browse all waystones, force-teleport, force-delete, grant discovery to players, and configure every setting in-game via /scriptevent bws:admin.

Crafting

Waystone block — Crying Obsidian (corners) · Amethyst Shard (edges) · Lodestone (center). Unlocks after picking up an Ender Pearl.

Warpstone — 4 Amethyst Shards + Paper + Ender Pearl. Teleports you to your last-used waystone. 16 uses, 60-second cooldown.

Return Scroll (×4) — 8 Paper + Ender Pearl + Amethyst Shard. Returns you to exactly where you last teleported from. Single-use.

XP Costs & Discount Tiers

Same-dimension cost: 1 level per 700 blocks, capped at 3. Cross-dimension: flat 3 levels. Creative players skip costs by default. Upgrading always refunds the previous tier's block; breaking the waystone returns all invested blocks.

Installation

1. Download BetterWayStones.mcaddon and double-click to install.
2. In World Settings, activate both the Behavior Pack and Resource Pack.
