Description

Buy Me a Coffee at ko-fi.com

Automatically smelt ores and other block drops upon mining.

Auto-Smelt Drops is a vanilla-friendly Bedrock survival add-on. When you mine ores (Iron, Gold, Copper) or other smeltable blocks, the raw resource drops are instantly converted into their smelted equivalents (ingots, stone, charcoal, etc.) on the ground.

It is lightweight and designed to save you inventory space, fuel, and time spent waiting at a furnace during long mining trips.

⚠️ Important: Beta APIs required

Auto-Smelt Drops uses Bedrock scripting and will not work unless Beta APIs are enabled for the world.

✅ Open your world settings
✅ Go to Experiments
✅ Turn on Beta APIs
✅ Accept the world copy warning if Minecraft shows one
✅ Activate the Auto-Smelt Drops Behavior Pack

📌 If auto-smelting does not start in-game, first check that Beta APIs are still enabled on that world.

Features

  • Ore Smelting: Raw iron, gold, and copper drops are automatically converted to iron, gold, and copper ingots.
  • Stone & Cobble Smelting: Automatically smelt mined cobblestone and cobbled deepslate into stone and deepslate.
  • Wood to Charcoal: Smelt mined log and wood blocks directly into charcoal.
  • Sand & Clay Smelting: Mined sand drops as glass, and clay drops as bricks.
  • Fortune Compatible: Leverages vanilla drops, meaning your Fortune enchantment multiplies the smelted ingot output correctly!
  • Silk Touch Safe: If you mine an ore block with a Silk Touch tool, the block itself drops without being auto-smelted.
  • Visuals and Audio: Plays a satisfying sizzling sound and spawns basic flame particles upon automatic smelting.
  • Operator Settings: Game Directors can open the configuration menu by running /ztp:autosmelt or /ztp:as to toggle specific smelting categories (Ores, Stone, Wood, Sand, Clay, Misc), sounds, particles, and global enable state.

How to use

Activate the Behavior Pack on your world and make sure Beta APIs/scripting is enabled.

When survival players mine a supported block, the dropped item will sizzle and instantly smelt into its cooked counterpart.

Operators can configure the add-on by typing /ztp:as or /ztp:autosmelt in the chat:

  • Toggle the global state of the add-on.
  • Toggle specific smelting categories: Ores, Stone, Wood/Logs, Sand, Clay, and Misc (cactus, kelp, potato).
  • Toggle sounds and particle effects.

Requirements

  • Minecraft Bedrock Edition 1.26.0 or newer
  • No additional behavior pack dependency required
