Ancient Gates adds a gate network to Minecraft Bedrock. Explore, dig up half-buried gates, find addresses in chests, and dial them using the Galactic alphabet.
Features
- Gates: craft a Gate Kit and build a gate, or find weathered gates buried in the world. Repair damaged ones with craftable ring blocks.
- Dialing pedestal: a lectern-style console with a keyboard-style window of Galactic glyphs. Press six glyphs and the chevrons lock in one by one. You can also type the letters.
- Addresses: tablets in villages, shipwrecks, pyramids, dungeons and ruins reveal an address to a far-away gate, shown in glyphs only. The Glyph Chart helps you translate them.
- Travel: step through the animated portal and arrive next to the destination gate.
- Sounds: original sound effects for dialing, opening and travelling.
How to play
- Craft a Gate Kit and a Dialing Pedestal, or look for a buried gate.
- Right-click the ground with the kit to build a gate, and place a pedestal near it.
- Right-click the pedestal and dial six glyphs.
Requirements: Bedrock 1.21.130 or newer. Both packs (behavior and resource) must be active. No Beta APIs or Experiments needed.
Beta notes: this is an early version, so expect bugs. Please report them in the comments with your game version and steps to reproduce.
Credits: the glyph font is the Standard Galactic Alphabet, a public-domain (CC0) font by standardgalactic. This add-on is an original project and isn’t affiliated with any TV show or franchise.
