🌍 German Language Patch for Hytale
The German Language Patch is a community project by thedragon95 that brings German language support to Hytale.
Since Hytale currently does not offer an official German localization, this project translates the game into German — including menus, settings, items, tooltips, system messages, character customization and many other parts of the game.
The goal is not to simply translate every English word one-to-one. Translations are reviewed and adjusted so they sound natural in German and make sense in the actual in-game context.
Feedback from the community is also an important part of the project. If something sounds strange, is translated incorrectly or is still shown in English, you are always welcome to report it.

🅰️ Option A – Copy the language files directly
🪟 Windows
1. Download and extract the ZIP file
Download the German Language Patch and extract the ZIP file. Inside you will find the required files and the install folder.
2. Open the Hytale language folder
Open this path:
%AppData%\Hytale\install\release\package\game\latest\Client\Data\Shared\Language
How to get there:
- Press Windows Key + E, paste the path into the address bar and press Enter
or
- Press Windows Key + R, paste the path and press Enter
➡️ Copy the extracted language files into the Language folder.
If Windows asks whether existing files should be replaced, confirm it.
🍏 macOS
1. Download and extract the ZIP file
Download the German Language Patch and extract the ZIP file.
2. Open the Hytale language folder
- Open Finder
- Click Go in the top menu bar
- Press Shift + Cmd + G
- Paste the following path:
~/Library/Application Support/Hytale/install/release/package/game/latest/Client/Data/Shared/Language
➡️ Copy the extracted language files into this folder.
If any required folders are missing, you can create them manually. If macOS asks whether files should be replaced, choose Replace.
🅱️ Option B – Copy the complete install folder
For most users, this is the easiest manual installation method.
🪟 Windows
- Extract the downloaded ZIP file
- Copy the included install folder
- Open the following folder:
%AppData%\Hytale
- Paste the install folder here
- Confirm merging or replacing existing files if Windows asks
🍏 macOS
- Extract the downloaded ZIP file
- Open Finder
- Press Shift + Cmd + G
- Paste:
~/Library/Application Support/Hytale
- Copy the included install folder into this location
- Confirm replacing or merging files if macOS asks

Windows & macOS
- Open Hytale in the CurseForge Launcher
- Open the Hytale game directory through CurseForge
- Extract the downloaded ZIP file
- Copy the included install folder into the main Hytale game directory
- Confirm merging or replacing files if prompted
- Start Hytale
▶️ Start Hytale
- Launch Hytale
- Open Settings
- Open the language settings
- Select German if it is not already enabled
Hytale should now use the German language files.
🔄 After a Hytale Update
Hytale updates may change or replace existing language files.
If parts of the German translation stop working after an update:
- Check whether a new version of the German Language Patch is available
- Download the latest version
- Install the language files again
I try to keep the patch updated whenever changes to Hytale require adjustments to the language files.

With thousands of translated strings, mistakes can still happen.
Please let us know if you find:
- An incorrect translation
- English text that has not been translated yet
- Unnatural or confusing wording
- An incorrect item name
- A typo
- A translation that does not fit the in-game context

Der German Language Patch ist ein Community-Projekt von thedragon95, das Hytale eine deutsche Sprachunterstützung hinzufügt.
Da Hytale aktuell noch keine offizielle deutsche Lokalisierung anbietet, übersetzt diese Mod große Teile des Spiels ins Deutsche – darunter Menüs, Einstellungen, Gegenstände, Tooltips, Systemmeldungen und die Charakteranpassung.
Dabei geht es nicht darum, jeden englischen Begriff einfach Wort für Wort zu übersetzen. Viele Texte werden überprüft und angepasst, damit sie auf Deutsch natürlich klingen und auch wirklich zum jeweiligen Spielinhalt passen.
Auch Hinweise und Verbesserungsvorschläge aus der Community werden berücksichtigt und fließen regelmäßig in neue Versionen ein.

1. ZIP-Datei herunterladen und entpacken
Lade den German Language Patch herunter und entpacke anschließend die ZIP-Datei. Darin findest du die benötigten Dateien sowie den Ordner install.
2. Hytale-Sprachordner öffnen
Öffne folgenden Pfad:
%AppData%\Hytale\install\release\package\game\latest\Client\Data\Shared\Language
So kommst du dorthin:
- Drücke Windows-Taste + E, füge den Pfad oben in die Adressleiste ein und drücke Enter
oder
- Drücke Windows-Taste + R, füge den Pfad ein und drücke Enter
➡️ Kopiere die entpackten Sprachdateien in den geöffneten Language-Ordner.
Falls Windows fragt, ob vorhandene Dateien ersetzt werden sollen, bestätige dies.

Lade den German Language Patch herunter und entpacke anschließend die ZIP-Datei.
2. Hytale-Sprachordner öffnen

- Klicke oben auf Gehe zu
- Drücke Shift + Cmd + G
- Füge folgenden Pfad ein:

Falls benötigte Unterordner noch nicht vorhanden sind, kannst du diese manuell erstellen. Wenn macOS fragt, ob vorhandene Dateien ersetzt werden sollen, wähle Ersetzen.

🧰 Installation mit dem CurseForge Launcher
Windows & macOS
- Öffne Hytale im CurseForge Launcher
- Öffne über CurseForge den Hytale-Spielordner
- Entpacke die heruntergeladene ZIP-Datei
- Kopiere den enthaltenen install-Ordner in das Hytale-Hauptverzeichnis
- Bestätige das Zusammenführen beziehungsweise Ersetzen vorhandener Dateien
- Starte anschließend Hytale
▶️ Hytale starten
- Starte Hytale
- Öffne die Einstellungen
- Öffne die Spracheinstellungen
- Wähle Deutsch, falls es noch nicht aktiviert ist
Danach sollte Hytale die deutschen Sprachdateien verwenden.
🔄 Nach einem Hytale-Update
Hytale-Updates können vorhandene Sprachdateien verändern oder überschreiben.
Falls die deutsche Übersetzung nach einem Update nicht mehr vollständig funktioniert:
- Prüfe, ob eine neue Version des German Language Patch verfügbar ist
- Lade die aktuelle Version herunter
- Installiere die Sprachdateien erneut
Ich versuche, den Patch möglichst zeitnah anzupassen, wenn Änderungen an Hytale eine Aktualisierung der Sprachdateien notwendig machen.
🐞 Übersetzungsfehler gefunden?
Bei mehreren tausend Texten kann sich natürlich trotzdem einmal ein Fehler einschleichen.
Melde dich gerne, wenn dir beispielsweise Folgendes auffällt:
- eine falsche Übersetzung
- noch nicht übersetzter englischer Text
- eine unnatürliche oder verwirrende Formulierung
- ein falscher Gegenstandsname
- ein Tippfehler
- ein Begriff, der nicht zum Spielinhalt passt
- fehlender Text
Du kannst Fehler jederzeit auf unserem Discord melden.
Am besten schickst du direkt einen Screenshot und beschreibst kurz, wo der Text im Spiel auftaucht. So können wir die richtige Stelle deutlich schneller finden und korrigieren.
