📝 G.N.O.M.E. CORRECTION NOTICE

A recent VoidArmor announcement required a small correction after Nib Geargrumble, Assistant Records Gnome, was assigned responsibility for both counting and typing. No other changes.

🜏 G.N.O.M.E. INTERNAL RECORD — VOIDARMOR

CLASSIFICATION: BLACK-VOID
ACCESS: ENGINEERING COMMAND / CONTAINMENT PERSONNEL
DOCUMENT STATUS: LEAKED
RECOVERY STATUS: UNSUCCESSFUL
CURRENT VERSION: VoidArmor 2.5.0

NOTICE: If this document appeared without being requested, disconnect from the server and do not equip anything.

INCIDENT OVERVIEW

VoidArmor has undergone a substantial development overhaul.

What began as a collection of reinforced armor assets and experimental void-binding procedures has become a fully integrated defensive system featuring:

  • Configurable full-set armor bonuses
  • Hostile-only aura damage
  • Reactive Void Corruption
  • Dynamic HUD indicators
  • Safe-target filtering
  • Save-local configuration
  • Complete in-game documentation
  • Improved removal and disconnect handling

The armor is now stable.

This assessment was written before the testing chamber stopped responding.

FULL-SET ACTIVATION

Matching four-piece armor sets now activate tier-based combat systems for:

  • Copper
  • Iron
  • Thorium
  • Adamantite
  • Mithril

All four pieces must belong to the same tier.

Mixed armor sets will not activate.

This restriction was implemented after Prototype 7 attempted to determine which pieces belonged together without assistance.

Prototype 7 is no longer stored as separate pieces.

Each active set provides:

  • Hostile-only aura damage
  • Reactive Void Corruption
  • A visible thorn-shield HUD indicator
  • A Roman numeral identifying the active tier
Armor Tier Indicator
Copper I
Iron II
Thorium III
Adamantite IV
Mithril V

The indicator updates automatically when armor is changed and disappears when the full set is removed.

If the indicator remains visible:

  1. Confirm that all armor pieces were removed.
  2. Confirm that the indicator is still attached to the HUD.
  3. Confirm that it is not floating in the room behind you.
  4. Do not turn around until containment personnel arrive.

HOSTILE AURA RESPONSE

Complete armor sets periodically damage nearby hostile targets.

The wearer does not need to attack.

The armor detects aggression and responds independently.

Aura Damage per Second

Armor Tier Damage
Copper 2
Iron 4
Thorium 6
Adamantite 8
Mithril 12

Protected targets include:

  • Players
  • Friendly and neutral NPCs
  • Passive creatures
  • Pets and companions
  • Merchants
  • Targets whose attitude cannot be safely determined

The system will not damage a target unless hostility can be confirmed.

This safeguard was added after an early Mithril set detected fear in nearby researchers and classified it as suspicious behavior.

Three researchers escaped the aura radius.

Two continue to insist that the armor followed them.

Their reports have been sealed.

REACTIVE VOID CORRUPTION

When the wearer is attacked, the hostile attacker receives tier-based Void Corruption.

The effect inflicts continuous damage and functions as the armor’s automatic response to physical contact.

Void Corruption Damage per Second

Armor Tier Damage
Copper 5
Iron 9
Thorium 16
Adamantite 28
Mithril 50

Reapplying Void Corruption refreshes the existing effect instead of creating additional stacks.

This prevents excessive effect accumulation, dimensional instability, and the formation of overlapping versions of the same victim.

The duplicate recovered during testing was not retained.

It knew details the original did not.

CONFIGURATION ACCESS

Set-bonus behavior can be adjusted through the save-local configuration file:

<Hytale UserData>/Saves/<save>/mods/Aipoc'sHouse_VoidArmor/config.json

`

This allows server owners to configure VoidArmor without modifying the mod directly.

Authorized values may be adjusted safely.

Unauthorized values may also be adjusted.

The distinction becomes important afterward.

Do not enter negative durations.

Do not assign damage values using words.

Do not add a configuration field named awake.

The armor already has one.

It is hidden.

IN-GAME VOILE GUIDE

VoidArmor includes a complete optional Voile documentation guide covering:

  • Getting started
  • All five armor sets
  • Full-set bonuses
  • All five craftable weapons
  • Armor recipes
  • Salvage recipes
  • HUD behavior
  • Safe targeting
  • Configuration
  • Installation
  • Development information

Open the guide with:

/voile --topic=AipocsHouse:VoidArmor:start-here

Voile remains optional.

VoidArmor loads normally without it.

The documentation exists primarily so users understand what the equipment is supposed to do.

Several documented behaviors were added after the guide was completed.

No one remembers adding them.

Server and development documentation is restricted through:

aipocshouse.voidarmor.server-docs

Operator access is required because the restricted pages contain:

  • Internal configuration details
  • Containment procedures
  • Failed removal instructions
  • The last known transcript from Testing Chamber Four

The transcript ends with:

“The armor is empty. Why is it breathing?”

SALVAGE RECORDS

A dedicated guide now documents all 32 normal and overclocked salvage recipe definitions, including the exact Copper shield outputs.

No salvage balance was changed while producing the documentation.

The outputs remain accurate.

The quantities remain consistent.

The recovered materials may occasionally be warm.

Do not ask what they remember.

One Copper shield returned from salvage with impact damage on the inside.

The incident was classified as a manufacturing defect.

The blacksmith responsible had been dead for six days.

CORRECTIONS AND CONTAINMENT IMPROVEMENTS

Additional changes include:

  • Corrected malformed Void shield salvage recipe files
  • Fixed Voile registration so the guide is discovered in game
  • Reworked wide documentation tables for improved readability
  • Added spacing so table content no longer overlaps following headings
  • Improved HUD lifecycle handling when players change sets
  • Improved HUD cleanup when players disconnect
  • Verified armor-set detection and effect removal
  • Expanded installation and configuration documentation

HUD indicators now disappear correctly when players disconnect.

Previously, some indicators remained active after their owners left the server.

They continued displaying tier numerals.

They changed numbers when observed.

This behavior has been corrected.

No remaining indicators have been found.

Containment personnel are still counting.

KNOWN RISKS

Current documented risks include:

  • Armor fractures under extreme conditions
  • Purple electrical discharge
  • Void seepage
  • Reality disagreements
  • Temporary dizziness
  • Persistent shadow staining
  • Unrequested whispers
  • Short-term memory loss
  • Reflections moving before the wearer
  • Additional limbs
  • Missing limbs
  • Familiar voices originating from sealed helmets

Armor may provide tactical advice, encouragement, threats, or personal information.

Do not respond.

Do not acknowledge accurate statements.

Do not allow the armor to finish a sentence beginning with your full name.

If the helmet asks whether you remember putting it on, remove the chestplate first.

Do not remove the helmet first.

We no longer explain why.

SAFETY DIRECTIVES

  • Do NOT expose VoidArmor to holy light, unstable anti-magic fields, or excessive optimism
  • Do NOT sleep while wearing a complete set
  • Do NOT place an empty set facing a bed, doorway, mirror, or occupied crib
  • Do NOT equip armor recovered from a player who is still wearing it
  • Do NOT approach an empty suit that appears to be kneeling
  • Do NOT answer knocking sounds originating inside the chestplate
  • Do NOT accept instructions displayed beneath the normal HUD indicator
  • Do NOT follow a second version of yourself into an unloaded chunk

The G.N.O.M.E. Institute accepts no responsibility for:

  • Injury
  • Mutation
  • Cult formation
  • Missing shadows
  • Memory replacement
  • Unscheduled duplication
  • Loss of personal chronology
  • Discovery of occupied armor in previously empty storage
  • Being recognized by something that has never met you

FINAL STATUS

VoidArmor currently includes:

  • Five complete armor tiers
  • Tier-based full-set bonuses
  • Hostile-only aura damage
  • Reactive Void Corruption
  • Dynamic HUD integration
  • Safe-target filtering
  • Save-local configuration
  • Complete Voile documentation
  • Verified salvage references
  • Improved armor lifecycle handling

The armor is functional.

The targeting system is selective.

The corruption is contained.

The documentation is complete.

Testing Chamber Four remains locked.

There is no Testing Chamber Five.

Ignore any signs directing you there.

DEPLOYMENT AUTHORIZATION

Deployment is approved.

Users are reminded that armor is equipment.

Equipment does not become attached to its operator.

Equipment does not remember previous operators.

Equipment cannot feel abandonment.

These statements are mandatory.

“The safest armor is the armor that wants you alive.” — G.N.O.M.E. Defensive Equipment Division

“We have not determined why it wants that.” — Classified handwritten addendum
