Your Hytale overworld has worn the same sky since the day it generated. Turning Seasons gives it a year.

You log in after a few days away, and the light is different. Last time it was late spring — soft rain, drifting pollen. Tonight the sky is deep summer blue. Play on, and the world turns amber, red-gold leaves drifting past, the sun setting a little earlier each evening. Then one cold morning you spawn into pale silver light, fog low across the ground, snow coming down — and you realize winter arrived while you were gone.

Hytale's sky is beautiful. But it's the same beautiful, every day, forever. Turning Seasons rotates your overworld through Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter automatically — so the world you come back to is never quite the world you left.

How a year feels

Each season runs about 15 in-game days through Early → Mid → Late phases, so nothing ever snaps — it eases. A full loop is roughly 20 hours of play:

🌸 Spring — cool grey-blue warming to bright; light rain, drifting pollen. ☀️ Summer — vivid blue, fog burned off, a warm gold shimmer in the air. Long days, short nights. 🍂 Autumn — molten amber fading to wistful grey, with autumn leaves drifting on the wind. ❄️ Winter — hushed and pale; heavy cold fog and real snowfall that deepens into a late-winter storm, under the longest nights of the year.

Every season's Late phase already whispers the next — you feel the turn coming before it lands.

It remembers

Log out mid-summer, come back next week — still summer. The seasonal clock only ticks while you're actually playing; no eerie time-travel while you're offline. Copy your save to another PC and the season travels with it.

Make it yours

It works perfectly untouched — but a config file lets you reshape the year: season length, the starting season, drop a season you don't want (or run endless winter), even rewrite the announcements in any language. On a multiplayer server you can also choose who's allowed to change the season — leave it open to everyone (the default), or restrict /season set, skip, and length to players you trust, while everyone can still check the current season. Fat-finger the file? The mod shrugs, falls back to the defaults, and notes it in the log. It will never break your world.

Set winter for the perfect screenshot, log out, come back two weeks later — still winter, until the natural cycle catches up.

Straight answers

The atmosphere changes; the blocks don't. Hytale bakes grass and leaf colours in at world-gen with no runtime repaint hook — so Turning Seasons works the sky, light, fog, clouds, and weather to pair with your terrain rather than fake new colours. (Honestly, warm amber autumn light over green leaves looks better than you'd expect.)
Overworld only. Custom dimensions and fragment realms (Sakura Grove, Skylands, portal worlds) run their own environments and are left untouched.

Plays well with others

No block edits, no worldgen changes — it sits quietly alongside almost anything. Also run HAARP Weather Control? You're sharing one steering wheel: a /haarp program shows instantly, then a few in-game days later the next seasonal phase reasserts the sky. Pick HAARP for manual, on-demand weather and Turning Seasons for automatic rotation.

Install in 60 seconds

Download the TurningSeasons-v1.1.3.zip file and unzip it anywhere (right-click → Extract All)
Copy only the TurningSeasons-v1.1.3.jar into your Hytale Mods folder — %APPDATA%\Hytale\UserData\Mods\ ⚠️ The .jar, not the .zip — the zip is just the download wrapper and won't work in the Mods folder
Upgrading? Delete any older TurningSeasons file from the Mods folder first (old .jars and any .zip)
Launch Hytale, load a world, and tick Turning Seasons on in the world's mod settings
Play. The year takes it from here. 🍂

⚠️ Getting "Command not found! season"?

That means the mod's code isn't loaded — in every case so far, the .zip was placed in the Mods folder instead of the .jar. (Older downloads even showed up in the mod list that way, looking installed while containing no code.) Fix: delete the TurningSeasons .zip from Mods, copy the .jar in, make sure the mod is ticked on for your world, and restart the world.
