⚔️ Dynamic Combat (3 Phases)

Prepare for an evolving, multi-stage boss fight that adapts as the battle rages on:

Phase 1: Guardian (100% - 50% HP): The Warden controls the battlefield with relentless melee strikes and long-range Shard Volleys. When its health drops below 75%, it begins deploying the Harmonic Aegis—an impenetrable energy shield reducing incoming damage by 80%.
Phase 2: Resonance (50% - 30% HP): The Warden unleashes the Echo Pulse, a devastating 360° area-of-effect shockwave. Watch for the expanding void vortex and retreat before the blast!
Phase 3: Enraged (<30% HP): Driven to madness, the Warden undergoes a 3-second Phase Transition, gaining invulnerability before turning crimson. In this furious state, its speed increases by 2.5x, cooldowns are slashed, and it unlocks its ultimate attack: Crystal Rain, a massive celestial bombardment that will force you to keep moving.

🛸 Abyssal Minions: Echo Drones

When the Warden’s health drops below 75%, it will begin summoning Echo Drones from the void (spawning 2 base drones + 1 per additional player, every 90 seconds). These fragile but relentless flying minions strictly follow their leader and will aggressively snap back if pulled more than 20 blocks away. They harass players from afar, firing projectiles that inflict Void Shackle, a debuff that severely slows your movement speed. There is a hard cap of exactly 8 drones alive per Warden at any given time—focus them down or get overwhelmed!

🌩️ World Integration & Persistence

The Echo Warden is no ordinary spawn. It features an advanced Custom UI and dynamic weather-based spawning:

Dynamic Spawn Filters & Restrictions: The Warden spawns naturally based on weather and biome data: Zone 3 Hedera (100%), Zone 3 Snowstorms (70%), Zone 3 Rain (40%), Zone 2 Thunderstorms (15%), and Zone 1 Storms (10%). Under these natural conditions, only 1 boss can organically exist at a time on the server. Once defeated, there is a strict global cooldown of 30 minutes before the elements can summon it again.
Deep Rest Persistence: The Warden remembers you. If you flee, log out, or the chunk unloads, the boss saves its exact health and coordinates (X, Y, Z). When you return, a 3-second Restoration Grace period ensures the boss teleports back to its exact previous location and stays locked in mid-air while the environment loads, preventing it from falling underwater or wandering away. While undisturbed, it slowly regenerates health over time (healing twice as fast if left in "Deep Rest" for more than 7 minutes).
Custom boss bar (Multi-Backend): As you approach, a unique, fully synchronized boss bar appears on your HUD, displaying the Warden's precise health. This mod features an intelligent backend factory that automatically detects and integrates with MultipleHUD (buuz135), AutoMultiHud (Dairymoose), or falls back to native Hytale UI if no HUD managers are present. It is designed for maximum compatibility in heavy modpacks.

Artifact of the Abyss: A rare chance (~10% drop rate) to obtain the legendary Echo of the Void. Consuming this item grants massive riches (including guaranteed Mithril and a 60/20/20 chance for an elite weapon) and has a 10% chance to bypass all cooldowns and immediately summon the Warden for a deadly rematch!

🧩 Asset-Driven First & Java Extension

We embraced Hytale's data-driven philosophy: 90% of the combat mechanics are handled via pure JSON. The custom Java ECS (Entity Component System) layer is strictly used to extend engine capabilities where JSON falls short. Our 43 custom Java systems handle:

Disk Persistence: Saving entity HP to disk and calculating offline asynchronous healing.
Dynamic Multiplayer Scaling: Adjusting base HP seamlessly based on the participating players in the chunk using the formula 5000 × (1 + (N-1) × 0.5) to prevent boss-melting in large groups.
Advanced Routing: Forcing specific RootInteraction abilities during the Enraged phase and managing complex spawn rituals (like our vertical grace period anchor).
Real-time custom HUD networking: Implementing a multi-backend HUD system that broadcasts precise, real-time health data to all clients within a 56-block combat radius. It supports multiplexing via community mods like MultipleHUD or AutoMultiHud to ensure it doesn't overwrite other on-screen elements.

🧠 CAE Mastery

The Combat Action Evaluator (CAE) is pushed to its absolute limits. The Warden seamlessly juggles 5 distinct abilities using advanced RunConditions, TargetMemoryDuration, and ResponseCurves (ReverseLinear). Dynamic weights ensure the boss properly zones players, swapping targets if multiple players engage, and prioritizing the Echo Pulse to punish careless melee attackers.

🦅 Reliable Motion & Pathfinding

Flying NPCs are notoriously prone to getting stuck. The Echo Warden utilizes Hytale's Fly controller combined with a custom Wander-when-blocked fallback configuration. If pathfinding fails or the boss collides with a wall, it overrides its altitude and wanders unpredictably until a clear path is found, guaranteeing that the fight never breaks.

🎯 Clarity & Feel (Telegraphs & Hitboxes)

Every attack provides clear, legible "tells" to the player, maintaining fair combat:

Visual Cues & VFX: Skills utilize a rich blend of custom blocky animations and perfectly timed custom/vanilla particle systems. The Echo Pulse generates an inward-pulling vortex of particles before the outward blast. The Phase Transition is telegraphed by a 3-second invulnerable casting animation.
Audiovisual Orchestration: Currently, the mod uses a carefully curated selection of vanilla sounds orchestrated to sound completely epic and cohesive. Fully custom sound design will arrive in a future update!
Fair Hitboxes: Melee interactions are strictly calibrated to a 4-block distance (EndDistance: 4), perfectly syncing the visual swing arc with the damage application.

Optimized Performance

The mod operates on a "Highlander" architecture—the system actively manages entity limits (via our session ID tracking) to ensure top-tier server performance. The ECS Java components ensure there are no memory leaks or tick-rate drops, even during heavy combat calculations.

Commands

Built-in administration tools allow for complete control:

/echowardenreset — Clears global persistence memory and despawns stray instances.
/echowardenallowspawn — Grants an authorized token to bypass weather and cooldown filters for events.
/echowardenforcespawn [N] — Bypasses all filters to force-spawn either a single boss or multiple bosses at once (multi-boss instances share synchronized global scaling but maintain independent state).
/echowardenbossbar — Shows whether the custom boss bar HUD is enabled.
/echowardenbossbar on|off — Enables or disables the Echo Warden custom boss bar (CustomUIHud). Combat, phases, and persistence are unchanged; only the on-screen health bar is skipped when off. The choice is saved in EchoWardenState.txt (last CSV field) next to the other persistence fields—restart not required after toggling.
