New: Farmers can now harvest, replant, water, and tend crops during their work schedule. You can plant any crops you like instead of relying on defaults, and farmers will water, replant, and harvest those crops, sending the harvest directly to Warehouse storage. Note: farmers will not harvest without a Warehouse, but they will still maintain the farm.
New: Town Hall now has a Population tab with recall actions for Aelin and villagers.
Improved: NPC persistence is much more reliable when leaving the village, unloading chunks, returning later, or restarting the world.
Improved: Older 0.8.3 and 0.8.4 villages can now recover missing villager links and assignments more safely after updating.
Improved: Villagers now keep their homes, jobs, skins, and interactions more consistently after reloads.
Improved: Farm layout and crop setup were updated for a better visual look, featuring tier 1 and tier 2 crops by default. This will not affect existing farms, but their farmers will start working on a new system immediately.
Improved: Added broader in-game test coverage for NPC persistence, chunk reloads, rescue quests, roles, Aelin, and restart recovery. Dev-only.
Fixed: NPCs could sometimes reload naked and lose their interaction prompt.
Fixed: Duplicate or orphaned village NPCs could appear after chunk unloads and reloads.
Fixed: Villagers could lose house or farm references, causing repeated reassignment loops.
Fixed: Town Hall recall could move broken NPCs without fully restoring them.
Fixed: Farmers could get stuck frozen after recall or after farming animations.
Fixed: Aelin and villagers could fail to restore correctly after restarting far away from the village.
Fixed: Rescue quest NPC cleanup and persistence checks are more reliable.
