Weapon-Based Class System

Your companion's class is now determined by their equipped weapon. Swap weapons to change class instantly.

Weapon Class
No weapon None — No abilities, reduced damage
Sword Warrior — Melee DPS
Sword + Shield (offhand) Tank — Frontline CC & protection
Axe / Battleaxe / Hatchet Berserker — Aggressive high damage
Bow / Crossbow Archer — Ranged single-target

Equipping or unequipping a weapon (including offhand shield) updates the class immediately. Unequipping all weapons reverts to None.


Classes & Abilities

Each class has 3 abilities that trigger automatically during combat. Abilities unlock once you invest your first talent point.

Warrior (Sword)

Ability Slot Cooldown Description
Pommel Strike Minor 90s Quick overhead strike dealing 10 damage. Stuns for 0.5s and knocks the target back.
Lunging Strike Major 180s Powerful forward thrust dealing 20 damage in a 40-degree arc. Hits up to 3 enemies with knockback.
Blade Dance Signature 320s Rapid sword flurry — 7 hits dealing 7 damage each across a 120-degree arc. Hits up to 10 enemies.

Tank (Sword + Shield)

Ability Slot Cooldown Description
Shield Slam Minor 90s Bashes target with shield for 8 damage. Stuns for 2.0s and knocks back.
Shockwave Major 180s Slams the ground for 12 damage in an area. Stuns up to 8 enemies for 1.0s with knockback.
Bastion Signature 320s Multi-hit shield assault — 4 hits dealing 8 damage each in a 120-degree arc. Stuns for 0.8s per hit. Hits up to 8 enemies.

Class Passive — Taunt: Every 6 seconds, forces all nearby enemies (within 12 blocks) that are targeting you to attack the companion instead. The taunt cooldown is shown on the HUD during combat.

Berserker (Axe / Battleaxe / Hatchet)

Ability Slot Cooldown Description
Reckless Cleave Minor 90s Wide axe sweep dealing 15 damage in a 60-degree cone. Hits up to 4 enemies with knockback.
Savage Slam Major 180s Devastating ground slam for 25 damage. Stuns up to 6 enemies for 1.5s with knockback.
Rampage Signature 320s Spinning frenzy — 5 hits dealing 12 damage each in a full 360-degree arc. Hits up to 10 enemies with knockback.

Class Passive — Frenzy: Deals up to 50% bonus damage at low HP. The lower your companion's health, the harder they hit. At full HP the bonus is 0%, scaling linearly to +50% at near-death.

Archer (Bow / Crossbow)

Ability Slot Cooldown Description
Quick Shot Minor 90s Fast arrow dealing 10 damage at 15-block range.
Evasive Volley Major 180s Backflips away from the target and fires 3 arrows dealing 9 damage each.
Arrow Storm Signature 320s Rapid barrage of 5 charged arrows dealing 11 damage each at range.

None (No Weapon)

No abilities. Companion follows you and can punch, but deals 75% reduced damage. Equip a weapon to unlock a class.


Talent Trees

Each class has a 15-talent tree across 5 tiers. You pick 1 of 3 options per tier. Talents unlock at levels 10, 20, 30, 40, and 50.

HUD Updates

  • Ability cooldown indicators show on the HUD during combat (green = ready, red = on cooldown with countdown)

  • Passives only display during combat to avoid unnecessary HUD updates
