Modern Mining
Modern Mining adds a full tiered drill progression system to Hytale, built for players who want faster, cleaner, and more satisfying mining without losing control over where they dig.
Start with a simple Tier 1 drill and upgrade all the way to a powerful Tier 5 legendary drill. Higher tiers unlock larger mining areas, faster digging speeds, bigger fuel capacity, and better overall mining performance.

Controls
- F: Load Fire Essence into the drill
- Crouch + F: Empty the drill fuel and refund Fire Essence
- R: Change drill mining size
- Q: Move Y offset up
- Crouch + Q: Move Y offset down
- E: Move side offset forward
- Crouch + E: Move side offset backward
Progression
Each drill tier builds on the previous one, requiring materials such as copper, iron, cobalt, thorium, adamantite, leather, chitin, emeralds, and more. Fueled drills must be emptied before upgrading, keeping crafting clean and predictable.
