Magic Storage Ledger

Which chest held the copper again? Magic Storage Ledger adds the Magic Ledger to Hytale: a magic register that lists what the chests around you hold and shows you the way to the item you pick. No signs, no labels, no sorting by hand.

How it works

1. Craft the Magic Ledger at the Arcanist's Workbench.
2. Walk up to your chests and right-click with the ledger in your hand.
3. Read the list: every item in the chests nearby, with how many of it they hold together.
4. Click an item, and a glittering mist marks every chest that holds it and leads you there.

Features

• See what your chests hold: a window like the repair kit's lists every item in the chests around you with its total count. Click a column heading to sort by that column, click it again to reverse the order. The ledger reopens with your last sort. Right-click again to close it.
• Spot the right chest: every nearby chest that holds the item you picked is wrapped in a thin veil of mist with twinkling sparks and bright star sparkles in the item's colour for ten seconds, on all six sides, so it stands out even in a stack. A large chest is marked over both halves.
• Follow the mist: softly curling wisps lead you to the five nearest of these chests. New wisps leave your current position every few seconds while there is still time to reach the chest.
• Only for you: only the player who searches sees the effects.
• Ledger Upgrade: craft it once and use it like a backpack upgrade. From then on your ledger also has a Carried column showing how many of each listed item you have in your hotbar, inventory and backpack, which helps when putting things away. The upgrade belongs to you, not to the book, and works only once per player.
• Any chest counts: small and large chests, vanilla or from other mods, as long as they store items.
• Workbench range: by default the ledger searches as far as workbenches reach for materials, 14 blocks sideways and 6 up and down. Operators can raise this up to 64 blocks.
• A book you can see: a teal and gold grimoire with its own model, texture and icon. When you open it, your character holds it open in both hands and reads.
• Languages: English.

Crafting

Both items are crafted at the Arcanist's Workbench, in the Misc category.

Installation

Magic Storage Ledger is a server plugin. The model, textures and translations are bundled in the .jar, so players do not need to install anything.

1. Download MagicStorageLedger-<version>.jar from the Files tab.
2. Put it into the mods folder of your server.
3. Restart the server.

Requires Hytale server 0.7.4 or a later 0.7.x build (Chapter 1, Update 7).

Configuration

On first start the plugin creates mods/oridiu_MagicStorageLedger/config.json:

Used Ledger Upgrades are saved per player in upgrades.txt in the same folder.

Commands for operators

Operators (or anyone with the plugin's command permission) can change the settings in game. Changes take effect immediately and are written to config.json.

/ml works as a short form of /magicledger.

Works well with Magic Storage

Magic Storage Ledger belongs to the same family as Magic Storage, which adds a Magic Chest you can open from anywhere with a Magic Bag. Each mod works on its own; neither needs the other.
