Jujutsu Cursed Energy

JujutsuHytale is the original project and community name.

JujutsuHytale is a large-scale fan-made gameplay and content mod for Hytale, inspired by the supernatural combat and progression systems of Jujutsu Kaisen.

The mod introduces a complete Cursed Energy system, advanced combat mechanics, character progression, barrier techniques, Binding Vows, cursed weapons, custom enemies, animations, visual effects, sounds and user interfaces.

Beta Notice

JujutsuHytale is currently in beta. Bugs, visual artifacts, balance issues, performance problems and compatibility changes may occur.

Back up important worlds before installing a new version.

🎮 Quick Start — Controls and Important Commands

Before playing, please read the following information about the ability wheel, testing commands and cursed spirits.

Ability Drum Controls

JujutsuHytale uses an ability drum located in the lower-left corner of the HUD.

Press the middle mouse button to rotate the drum and select another ability.
Crouch and press the middle mouse button to deactivate the ability drum.

Deactivating the drum allows you to use the normal charged attacks of Hytale weapons without triggering a selected JujutsuHytale ability.

Useful Commands

The following commands can be useful for testing, troubleshooting or resetting progression:

/CeGain — restores your Cursed Energy.
/blackflash — changes the Black Flash activation chance to 100% instead of the normal 1.5%.
/skilltree reset — resets your skill-tree progression.

Some commands may require administrator permissions or cheats to be enabled, depending on the world or server configuration.

Cursed Spirit Visibility

Cursed spirits are invisible to ordinary players.

A player must first unlock a Cursed Energy reserve and become a sorcerer before cursed spirits can be seen normally.

This means that cursed spirits may already be present nearby even if a new character cannot see them yet.

Develop your character through a complete Cursed Energy system.

Current features include:

Normal and Electric Cursed Energy properties
Cursed Energy reserves and regeneration
Multiple energy-output levels
Offensive and defensive reinforcement
Energy efficiency and progression
Electric attacks, shock effects and environmental interactions
Special interactions between Electric Cursed Energy and water
Custom HUD indicators, status effects and visual feedback

Each Cursed Energy property is designed to provide a different combat style rather than being a purely visual change.

JujutsuHytale expands Hytale combat with additional mechanics and abilities.

Cursed Energy-enhanced attacks
Defensive reinforcement and blocking
Black Flash
Reverse Cursed Energy healing
Reverse Cursed Energy burnout and temporary limitations
Ability cooldowns and resource management
Custom combat animations, particles and sounds
Progression-based ability unlocks

Combat values and balance may continue to change during beta testing.

⛩️ Domains and Barrier Techniques

The mod includes several connected barrier systems:

Domain Expansion
Incomplete Domain
Simple Domain
Guaranteed-hit interactions
Neutralization of guaranteed attacks
Battles between multiple active domains
Domain pressure, strength and collapse mechanics
Player and NPC participation in domain battles
Custom domain blocks, particles, animations and sounds

Incomplete Domain and Simple Domain also have their own learning, practice and progression systems.

🌳 Character Progression

Abilities are not all available immediately.

Players develop their character through:

Skill trees
Unlockable nodes
Observation of other abilities
Practice and combat experience
Cursed Energy usage
Domain battles
Special conditions and achievements
Binding Vows and obtainable items

The progression system is designed to make powerful abilities feel learned and mastered rather than granted automatically.

📜 Binding Vows

Binding Vows provide benefits in exchange for restrictions, penalties or specific conditions.

The current system includes:

Multiple vow rarities
Active vow effects
Advantages and disadvantages
Hidden information and unlock conditions
Vow items
Merchant acquisition
Integration with character progression

More Binding Vows may be added in future updates.

🗡️ Cursed Weapons

JujutsuHytale includes weapons with different levels of Cursed Energy saturation.

Cursed weapons can interact with the player's energy, combat progression and reinforcement systems.

Additional cursed weapons, relics and unique properties are planned for later versions.

👹 Cursed Spirits

The mod introduces custom cursed spirits with their own:

Cursed Energy reserves
Energy regeneration and resource management
Combat phases
Defensive behaviour
Healing abilities
Custom attacks
Barrier abilities
Artificial intelligence
Models, animations, particles and sounds

The current beta includes the Lantern Mire Stalker, a cursed spirit with adaptive combat behaviour and access to Cursed Energy abilities.

A reusable Cursed Energy framework has also been created for future NPCs and cursed spirits.

🧪 Beta Status

The main feature set of the first public beta is playable, but the project remains under active development.

Performance or optimization problems
Incomplete balancing
Temporary sound inconsistencies
Compatibility issues after Hytale updates
Mechanics that may change in future versions

The supported game version is displayed on each file page.
Multiplayer servers and players should use compatible JujutsuHytale versions.
Compatibility with other mods is not guaranteed.
Major Hytale updates may require a separate compatibility update.
