Materials
- Wood sets for the new trees
- New flowers: lavender, sunflower, red, yellow and pink tulips, marigold, heather, cotton grass, glowflower (glows), nightshade (glows faintly) and pink waterlily (floats on water).
New caves
- Glowshroom Grotto (Zone 1, Tier 2/3): tall halls with a mycelium floor, glowing mushrooms and tree-sized giant mushrooms.
- Spider Nest (Zone 1): web-filled chambers with bones and extra spider spawns.
- Frostwolf Lair (Zone 3): an icy den with bones, icicles and packs of white wolves (rarely a polar bear).
Settings
- Configuration (
BetterBiomes.jsonin the mod's data folder, created on first start): switch all world features or just structures on and off, scale how often features appear (FeatureChance), or disable single features by ID (DisabledFeatures). The server log lists all feature IDs at startup. The settings apply to newly generated chunks. Biomes are part of the asset pack and cannot be switched off.
Changed
- Biomes with their own environment now also spawn the animals and monsters of the environment they are based on. Before, a custom environment had no vanilla spawns at all.
- Hot Springs: the environment now inherits the glacier spawns. Penguins stay out, and polar bears and snow owls come only from BetterBiomes' own spawn lists.
- Requires UtilityBiome API 0.6.0-Alpha (reads further vanilla files at build time: weathers, environments, spawns).
Notes
- New biomes and caves only appear in newly generated chunks. Use a fresh world, or explore unvisited areas.
