Description
BetterBiomes
Orbis gets wilder. BetterBiomes adds a bunch of new subbiomes, 14 new cave types and a handful of landscape features to every zone of Hytale, from quiet flower meadows in the Emerald Wilds to a burning desert, a glacier mountain range and floating islands above the Devastated Lands.
Everything is built from vanilla blocks and plants, so the new areas blend into the world you already know.
This Mod adds no new mechanics nor does it add new items or blocks.

- Overhangs: rock ledges jutting out of cliffs and mountains.
- Ancient Bones: rare fossil sites scattered through the Whisperfrost Frontiers.
- Small structures: four per zone, such as wayside shrines, hunting stands, caravan rests, ice altars and burnt outposts.
Finding the new biomes
Every biome can be found with the vanilla locate command:
/locate biome BetterBiomes_Forest_Dead --tp
UtilityBiome also adds a few exploring commands, for example /ub where (which biome am I in?) and /ub cave <name> (teleport to the nearest cave of a type). See the UtilityBiome page for the full list.
Compatibility
- Hytale server 0.6.x (tested with 0.6.8).
- BetterBiomes only adds files and never replaces vanilla worldgen files, so it should get along with other mods that do the same. Mods that replace the vanilla zone files may conflict.
- Works on servers and in singleplayer.
Status
BetterBiomes is in alpha. Biome sizes and how often they appear may still change between versions. Found a bug or a biome that looks off? Let us know in the comments or on the issue tracker, ideally with the output of /ub where and a screenshot.
