Hogwarts House Point System
The Hogwarts House Point System is a dynamic and immersive gameplay mechanic designed to reflect player behavior and simulate NPC activity across the in-game school year. Points are awarded or deducted based on moral choices, auto-generated events, and timed tasks — encouraging diverse playstyles and competition between the four houses.
All tracking is based on simulated in-game time, not real-world time. This ensures full immersion in the magical world and aligns with in-universe routines and schedules.
1. Daily, Weekly & Monthly Tasks
All tasks follow the in-game time system and vary by frequency and challenge.
Daily Tasks
- Available between
06:30 and 21:30
- Must be completed by nightfall
- Roughly 90 unique daily homework quests
- Failure to complete deducts house points automatically
No Daily Homeworks on Suturday and Sunday
Weekly Tasks
- Start: Monday 06:30
- End: Sunday 21:30
- Around 40 different weekly quests, often more advanced.
- Include combat, research, or social collaboration tasks
Monthly Tasks
Duration: 1st of the month, 07:30 → last day, 21:30
Official House Point System Discord.
And for my other Mods like Spells & Talents
2. Core Mechanics
- Vanilla Quests with choices gain points oir a Deduction, based on the Choice.
- Round about 40 Vanilla Quests are adjusting Housepoints
- Using Unforgivable Curses results in penalties
- Defeating strong enemies grants points (cooldown)
- UI only shows net point changes
- House point changes are also represented by loot items:
- Green numbers = Points gained
- Red numbers = Points lost
There are still alot Vanilla Quests and also some Class Quests unmodded, they will be added soon, hopefully.
Check out Potionclass, or alot other side Quests.
3. House Behaviour (NPC Logic & Point Generation)
Each house generates points through background NPC actions, governed by internal rules for frequency, value, and time-of-day. These are simulated, not tied to physical events.
No Events for the Player House, except for Quests where a Gryffindor student gets deduction for disturbing Professor Sharps Class. Are you going to help Gerreth?
Slytherin
Gains points during the night through informant reports. Suffers the most negative events during the day but still maintains a steady point average.
Ravenclaw
Generates few events, but all with high point values. These result from long-term projects and tasks with delayed but powerful outcomes.
Hufflepuff
Triggers the most daily events, often through collaborative tasks like creature care or herbology. Point values are low but frequent.
Gryffindor
Balanced profile. Moderate frequency and rewards, usually related to brave acts such as duels or explorations.
4. House Cup & Trophy Room
- The House Cup is awarded at the end of every season (every 3 months)
- The winning house’s trophy is displayed in the Trophy Room
- Trophy is visible in the Trophy Room. And will show the Current Holder of the Housecup. In nAditional the Housecup can be Viewn in the Common Room of the Leading House of the last Season.
(Dont touch a Trophy that dont belong to your House)
Seasonal Breakdown
- Spring: February – April
- Summer: May – July
- Autumn: August – October
- Winter: November – January
The Season will change with the Month as it should be. If you have the Mod AutoSeason Change you should remove it. We communicated with the Creator, and he is totally fine with that :)
5. Reward System

If you read that far, you deserve to know a hidden mechanic. If Felix Felicis is consumed during the Week from Monday to Friday between 6am and 1pm (6-13) it will end any Daily Homework with success, giving you a freeday inkl all Points for those tasks.
The next part is for Modders who want to hook into that System. If you are just a Gamer, you can stop reading here.
7. Modding & Stat Integration
The system uses a combination of stat triggers and readouts.
Blueprint Integration
- Use
Update Stat node
- Check existence using
Stat Exists → Branch
- Trigger stats reset after firing (write-only). You can assume that the Trigger Values are in all Times at 0. And will be setted back to 0 after the Points are Handled.
You only need to Update/Add this Stat, everything else is handled by this System.
Quest Integration
- Use
Task Set Stat with the StatsDynamic dropdown
- Ensure the stat exists in the
StatsDynamic list beforehand
Trigger Stats (Write-Only) Please use Update/Add not Set
