_A quick and simple alternative for adding guests to your party_

Update 03/26/2025: Added Luna & Glaive options as guests to load without the use of Rinual's Mod Menu. Updated Stronger Guest Characters and added Strongest Guest Characters as those were mistakenly never released as a way for increasing guest stats more holistically and in a way more compatible with other mods.

Luna never was finished by Square but can follow and be swapped to in combat mostly just to view animations, but she should at least be able to cast magic for okay damage.

Guest Characters Luna & Glaive are too complicated to be implemented in this simple low-impact method of adding guests to the party, and can currently only be added to the party using Rinual's Mod Menu.

Fixed as of 03/26/2025. Any issues with Luna or Glaive not covered in the notes section should be reported as they are far more complicated to add, and though they seem fine with this method, my testing was limited to only basic tests.

General Notes:

Besides Glaive and Luna guest which required custom restoration methods, this mod does not add, or change any of the abilities or functions of the characters, it uses the native functions hidden within the game. Some of them will fight in battle, some of them will not. The characters behave the same as they would with cheat engine / debug. The exceptions to this are Aranea having her armor equip / unequip based on combat state, Sarah being given a menu idle. Luna and Glaive are entirely unique however and both should be considered novelty, see further down for more info specific to them.

If a character is ever forced to leave the party, you can save your game, and reload the new save and they will return.

To remove a guest member, use the included Remove Guest Mod or Rinual's Mod Menu

Notes on Guests

Iris retains the most functionality for a guest, and is least likely to cause issues. She will drive in all versions of the Regalia, allows for fishing, and joins in camp and diner animations. Other guests however may have limitations on which of those they can do. Some will prevent you from using those features entirely while they are in your party.

There is one known issue with guests in general in this game. Do not have a guest in your party when sleeping at the hotel at Galdin Quay. It is currently unknown why, but you will be locked into a blackscreen if you do prior to the autosave, which can cause a loss of progress.
Similarly, between dropping off Iris and having her leave your party towards the end of Chapter 6 and the start of chapter 7, having Iris in the party will cause group animations such as eating at a diner to blackscreen the same as above.

Sarah was given menu idle animations, as by default she will be stuck in a falling animation within the character menu.

Aranea will equip her armor when combat starts and unequip it when she leaves the fight. This can be reverted by removing the entry for data://character/nh/nh10/script/nh10_initialize.ebex in her mod.

Notes on Luna

Luna's guest Ai was never finished but functions surprisingly well. She can be swapped to in combat the same way as you can swap with other party members, but this is mostly just to view the different animations and to control her. She should at least be able to cast magic for okay damage, but most of her other abilities only trigger animations and not actual abilities with vfx or damage. She is the least complete of the guests, but should work for photos fine. If you change her weapon by mistake, you wont be able to attack with her, but I have scripted a fix that will initiate when you reload your save (you are safe to still save then reload even in this state). After reloading, her trident will be re-equiped fixing her combat state / equipment.

Notes on Ifrit
Ifrit is not designed to be in Lucis, so his addition to the party is less integrated. He will remain invisible till you use Firaga in battle, and after which he will remain in your party for the fight. If Firaga is unavailable, use regroup. If regroup isnt working and Noctis just stands there, Ifrit is probably stuck somewhere and regroup wont help. Try a fight elsewhere and come back. You can use Rinual's Mod Menu to make Ifrit visible for debugging using the party visibility option, as well as the party regroup menu option if needed.

Notes on Glaive

Glaive is fully combat ready and is based on the appearance of your Comrades character only, neither the name, gear or stats will be updated. The glaive is likeky too strong for early game content. This was mostly taken directly from the Chapter 14 quest, "Glaive Out of time" and should behave similarly to the guest in that quest, if it doesn't, let me know and I can try to look into an update.
