You have seen "The Dead Three..," hint three thousand times? You are familiar with control, but game keeps reminding you keybinds every other load? You tired of vanilla loading screens? Look no further, this mod has new hints and new screens.
Better Hints includes 47 hints about lore - short, 1-2 lines long, mostly about locations, orgs and deities of Faerun.
New Loading Screens has 2 versions:
- 106 midjourney-made, relatively generic, but (I hope!) - all immersive. Made for 16:9 AR it removes vignette and screen downscaling, and moves hints and loading data over the textures. 4x upscaled.
- 60 pieces from artbook, mostly landscapes plus a few quality character arts. 4x upscaled.
Mind please - despite loading screens are chosen randomly for saves loading, game will stick to only 2 textures on its start.
Also, while some of 47 vanilla hints limited to your controller, 47 hints from these mod will show up for both KB and gamepad users.
Hints with lore tidbits include English, French, Spanish, German and Chinese localizations.
Its technically impossible to make this mod (Better Hints part) show up in Mod Manager as official, it will be shown as third-party mod.
Installation:
Manually drop hints and/or screens pak file(s) from archive(s) to Mods folder (Appdata\Local\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3\Mods) and enable it/them in in-game mod manager. Or use BG3MM/Vortex.
Install only one version of loading screens - either artbook-based or AI-generated.
If you are using in-game MM only, keep Hints mod disabled, MM forcefully disables it anyway. It will work disabled.
Uninstallation:
Disable/uninstall mods in in-game mod manager or in BG3MM/Vortex. Don't delete paks manually in Mods folder.
When uninstalling version installed via in-game mod manager from mod.io, unsubscribe on mod.io, otherwise in-game mod manager will try to install it on background again.
Compatibility
Should be compatible with any other mod, which doesn't mess with the same widgets.
KB/M and controllers UI compatible. Hints and artbook screens will look good on any aspect ratio, AI-generated screens made foe 16:9 aspect ratio specifically.
