ZugBeastSniffer

Passively records Beast-type NPC and pet data for analysis and export.

Made this to collect data on beasts while playing, mainly to see what might be worth taming and whether anything interesting changes after taming it.

It runs in the background and records beasts the game lets it see through nameplates, targeting, mouseover, etc. Works on any class.

Records things like:

  • NPC ID, name, family, level and observed attack speed.
  • When and roughly where you saw it, using your position.
  • Your tamed pet’s stats, diet and abilities where available.
  • Changes to your pet over time.

If the addon watches you tame something, it can use that sequence to link the pet back to the original creature. You can also set the source manually.

There’s a catalogue to browse what you’ve found, plus exports for individual creatures, your current pet, or everything collected.

Unknown family doesn’t automatically mean untameable. Wild attack speed doesn’t necessarily carry over after taming, and pet abilities might be trained rather than innate. This collects observations, not definitive answers.

Data stays local unless you export and share it. Storage has limits, so export and back it up occasionally.

/zbs opens the addon. /zbs pet opens your pet’s info. /zbs off pauses collection.

Built and tested on the WoW Forever beta. No other addons required.
