XPsound

Simple Add-on that plays a quick ding sound whenever up receive XP

Here’s a ready-to-use CurseForge description for your XP Sound addon:

XP Sound
Plays a clear, short audio cue every time your character gains experience.

Features

  • Plays a distinct “ding” sound the moment you receive XP from any source (mob kills, quest turn-ins, exploration, etc.)
  • Uses the classic Auction House open sound for a clean, non-intrusive alert that is easy to recognize even during combat
  • Extremely lightweight — no configuration, no options menu, no saved variables, and virtually zero performance impact
  • Works immediately on login with no setup required
  • Compatible with Classic Era, Season of Discovery, and Hardcore

What this means for your gameplay

While leveling in Classic, experience gains can be easy to miss. The default floating combat text is often buried under other numbers, especially in groups or when multiple sources of XP occur at once. XP Sound gives you instant audio confirmation the second your character receives experience, without requiring you to look at the screen or the experience bar.

During questing
When you turn in several quests in a row or complete objectives that grant XP, the sound lets you know each reward registered. This is useful when you are moving quickly between NPCs or when the quest complete text scrolls by too fast to notice.

In dungeons
In 5-man groups it is common for multiple players to tag the same mobs or for XP to arrive from shared kills. The ding confirms that you received credit for the kill even if you were not the one who landed the final blow. This is especially helpful when grinding denser areas or when the party is moving quickly and the chat log is full of other messages.

While grinding or AFK-aware play
If you briefly look away from the screen or are monitoring another window, the audio cue still tells you that progress is being made. You no longer have to constantly glance at the experience bar to verify that kills are counting.

Why players use it

Classic leveling is a long process. Small, consistent feedback makes the journey more satisfying and reduces the mental load of constantly checking whether your last action actually gave experience. The sound is short and familiar, so it does not become annoying even during high-XP sessions.

No settings to adjust. Just install, enable, and every XP gain becomes audible.
