What's new

XIVEquip 2.0.0

XIVEquip 2.0 is a major overhaul focused on making gear recommendations smarter, easier to understand, and safer to equip.

Highlights

  • Added a new whole-loadout optimizer that evaluates your equipped gear and bags together instead of treating every slot independently.
  • Added built-in stat weights for every specialization. Pawn is fully supported but no longer required.
  • Added direct Pawn integration, including automatic scale selection and support for choosing a specific Pawn scale.
  • Added import support for Pawn/Raidbots weight strings and Wowhead-style stat priorities.
  • Added editable XIVWeights scales with import, export, duplication, and per-specialization ownership.
  • Added profiles with per-character and per-specialization configuration.
  • Added Wishlist and Avoidlist support to favor or reject specific items.
  • Added configurable set-bonus preferences for 2-piece and 4-piece bonuses.
  • Added optional filtering for trinkets Blizzard considers inappropriate for the active specialization.
  • Added a complete recommendation preview showing score improvements, item-level changes, and stats gained or lost.

Smarter equipment decisions

  • Evaluates rings and trinkets as pairs.
  • Handles Unique-Equipped items and shared uniqueness categories across the complete loadout.
  • Supports two-handed weapons, dual wielding, shields, off-hands, and holdable items.
  • Supports specialization-specific weapon rules, including Fury Warrior Titan’s Grip and Frost Death Knight weapon choices.
  • Correctly handles weapon changes that require clearing or replacing the off-hand.
  • Prefers the correct armor and weapon types for the current specialization.
  • Preserves equipped items when no genuine improvement is available.
  • Handles incomplete item data with bounded retries instead of returning unreliable recommendations.

Safer Bind-on-Equip handling

  • XIVEquip can now equip recommended Bind-on-Equip and Warbound-Until-Equipped items through Blizzard’s normal binding confirmation.
  • Added a recommendation panel beside the Blizzard confirmation showing:
    • The item being equipped
    • The item it replaces
    • Expected score improvement
    • Item-level difference
    • Stats gained and lost
  • Canceling the confirmation safely skips the item without hanging the remaining equip operation.
  • Multiple binding confirmations in one plan are handled individually.
  • Added protection against overlapping Equip Best operations.

New settings experience

  • Rebuilt the settings window with vertical navigation and clearer organization.
  • Added profile creation, selection, assignment, and deletion controls.
  • Added per-specialization scale and integration selection.
  • Added a full-width custom scale editor.
  • Added dedicated Wishlist and Avoidlist pages with item-link and item-ID support.
  • Added clearer explanations for automatic integration fallback and active scale selection.
  • Added configurable automation, messaging, set-bonus, and trinket preferences.
  • Fixed numerous layout, dropdown, dialog, paste-box, and text-wrapping issues.

Preview and controls

  • Added a fast hover preview with short-lived caching.
  • Shift-clicking the minimap button now previews recommendations without equipping.
  • The preview identifies the active weight source and scale.
  • The minimap button now documents its available actions:
    • Left-click: Equip Recommended Gear
    • Shift + Left-click: Preview recommendations
    • Right-click: Open settings
  • Added clearer “no upgrades” and equipment-result messages.
  • Added an XIVEquip macro creation and refresh option.

Automation

  • Added optional automatic gearing after specialization changes.
  • Added optional saving of successful results as Blizzard equipment sets.
  • Improved equipment-set updates so existing icons are preserved.
  • Added stronger verification before reporting an equip operation as successful.
  • Equipment operations now stop safely if combat begins, a slot remains locked, or Blizzard prevents a protected action.

Migration and reliability

  • Existing settings are automatically migrated to the new profile-based settings model.
  • Legacy generated default scales are kept separate from user-created custom scales.
  • Retired planner and comparison settings are removed during migration.
  • Reworked initialization to be safe and idempotent.
  • Improved error reporting when planning or equipping fails.
  • Added extensive automated coverage for planning, scoring, profiles, integrations, weapon rules, unique items, set bonuses, UI behavior, and equipment execution.

  • World of Warcraft Retail 12.0.7
  • World of Warcraft Retail 12.1.0
