XE QoL 4.9.16
What's new
What is new in 4.9.16
- Loot sparkles (new, Interface). Quest items you can loot always keep the game's loot sparkle, even after a graphics preset turns it off. Herbs, ore veins and corpses that still hold loot get a few golden glints as you walk up: dim while out of reach, a bright burst when you can take them, grey when your skill is too low (quest objects too, off by default). One thing sparkles at a time, nothing during a fight, no nameplates on NPCs or mailboxes. Your soft-target settings are kept and put back when you turn it off, and with another loot-sparkle add-on loaded XE steps aside.
- Edit mode (/xe edit). Every box is now its frame's exact size, its name on a tab along the top edge - stack frames and the tabs line up. Drag a box and it snaps to the other frames' edges and middles and to the screen (Shift: place freely); an optional grid (8-64 px); arrow keys nudge the box you clicked by 1 px (Shift: 10). Frames can sit flush with the screen's edge - the XP bar right at the bottom.
- Frames grow from a fixed corner. Right-click a box (or "Grows" on the Buff reminder, Consumables and Missing buffs pages) to pick down/up and right/left/both ways; more icons, rows or a bigger size no longer push a frame off its spot. Buff reminder, Missing buffs and Party buffs share one layout (padding, title line, icon size 30; Missing buffs keeps its own Icon size slider), and Party buffs puts "Group" and "Nearby" titles over their rows. Saved positions move over by themselves - one chat line, nothing moves on screen.
- "Quality of life only" is a new start in the setup wizard: bags, mail, auction house, frames, nameplates, bars - and nothing that guides your questing, gear or talents. It turns the Quest route and Travel add-ons off for that character too (another start, or ticking them in the AddOns list, brings them back). Options > General has the same as one click, "Turn every guidance part off", and "Bring the guidance parts back" undoes exactly that. With the guidance parts off nothing of theirs is left behind: no [NEW] quest tag, no "kept for a quest" amounts in the bags, no Gear & food tab at the auction house, no talent-guide build in Talent sets.
- Plan any profession from any character. Pick it at the top of the Professions helper - yours, an alt's with its skill, or one nobody has yet - and send a range of its route to the shopping list ("Alchemy 60-150 (for Baca)"). The Crafting tab's Browse lists the professions none of your characters has, their recipes, what the mats cost, and the gold + to the shopping list - a gatherer can shop for the crafts its mats will feed.
- Recipes to learn has a profession picker at the top: your professions, then every other one with the alt that has it ("Tailoring - Baca 60") or "nobody yet". Pick one to see what that alt (or a future crafter) could learn, where, and whether it pays, at that alt's skill.
- Minimap button tooltip says "Right-click: menu".
