What's new

What is new in 4.6.3

(New files: restart the game after updating, /reload is not enough.)

New

  • Professions: a panel beside the profession window - your skill, the next rank and where to train it, the recipe to make now (in its colour, with the chance to skill up and about how many crafts it takes), the reagents you have / need (bags + bank) or the whole route's shopping list, and a "Show recipe" button. Gathering skills show what you can gather now and next, and Forever's herb level rule. Reagent tooltips say what the route needs. /xe prof lists all your professions.
  • Bags: auto-open clams, coin purses, sacks and boxes that need no key (off by default - Bags options > General, or /xe open). Never in a fight, at a vendor, bank, mail or trade, or with fewer than 4 free slots; /xe open ignore <item> keeps one shut.

Talents

  • The trainer spells are in a small panel under the talent guide (no more Talents / Spells tabs): the ones you can buy now in green, then the ones still to come with their level.
  • Every class has a Best for levelling build for WoW Forever, checked against the current talent trees (the other builds stay as alternatives). The builds were rebuilt, so each character picks once again.

Quest Route

  • The arrow follows the route. When something you chose holds it, it says so ("Detour:", "Your pick:", "Along the way:") and the window shows "Arrow: ... [Back to route]". A detour ends by itself once the quest is picked up, done, or not offered yet (one chat line says why). The quests-left-behind list shows "(from level N)".
  • Ways in and paths: a quest giver inside a mine or cave - the arrow goes to the entrance first, then to the NPC. The guide's own paths (lifts, elevators, mountain paths) are walked in order before the quest. On a death skip, the arrow takes your ghost to the spirit healer.
  • Travel: walking goes through real zone borders (roads and passes), so no more flying through Thunder Bluff to reach the Stonetalon border; the guide's own flight / hearth lines win; your hearthstone is kept when the route needs it soon. Known flight paths are kept per character for the whole account.
  • Tips: about 3,000 reviewed tips (where exactly, what to use, waves and timers, elites, rare spawns) - e.g. the Windshear Mine escort's 3 kobold waves, the Blackfathom priestesses in the cave before the entrance.
  • Guides: Alliance 44-60 guides fixed (they had the Horde versions), Skyborne for both factions, the Night Elf Westfall part, class-only steps that were missing for some classes, "only above level N" jumps. Group quests are hidden unless you turn on "Group quests"; dungeon quests inside the route per dungeon (options).
  • No more "reach level N" steps. When a quest here needs one more level, a dim line says how much XP is left - it never blocks, and the route comes back for that quest once you can take it.
  • When a guide ends the route moves on to the guide for your level; when you have outgrown a guide it offers a jump (never by itself); a nearly full quest log gets a clean-up list (each Abandon asks first); class quests for your level are suggested.
  • Check again: a button in the route window's header (and "Check the route again" on the arrow's right-click menu) finds the step you should be on. The route no longer sends you to hearth or fly away while the zone you are in still has a pick-up or hand-in for you.
  • Guide positions given on the whole continent map now land in their zone.

Fixes

  • Loot rolls: everyone's Need / Greed, rolls and the winner show again (WoW Forever names can have spaces); a roll closes once the item is looted. /xerolls debug shows what reaches XE during a roll.
  • Party buffs: the strip shows again in dungeons (the game hides some of the group's buffs there) and with higher blessing ranks; another paladin's blessings count. /xe buffs debug says, member by member, what it sees.
  • Bags auto-open: clams the game does not flag as lootable open too.
  • Group finder: listing your own group no longer gets the game's search blocked.
  • Talking to some NPCs no longer caused an error.
