X-Perl Forever

X-Perl Forever is an unofficial adaptation of the classic X-Perl unit-frames addon, maintained by Ziliya specifically for World of Warcraft Forever.

WoW Forever combines classic gameplay with newer interface technology. Those changes caused existing X-Perl and Z-Perl releases to experience Lua errors, broken frames, missing artwork, incorrect resource colors, protected-action errors, and problems involving WoW’s restricted and secret-value systems.

This version updates the addon for WoW Forever while preserving the familiar appearance and functionality of the original X-Perl interface.

Why This Version Exists

Older X-Perl and Z-Perl releases were designed for different versions of World of Warcraft’s interface.

WoW Forever restricts access to certain unit information and secure interface functions that these older releases expected to use directly. X-Perl Forever updates frame initialization, module loading, health and resource handling, combo-point behavior, secure-state handling, artwork paths, saved settings, and other affected systems.

The goal is to provide WoW Forever players with the recognizable original X-Perl experience in a version designed for the Forever client.
