WoW PvP Ranks

Every player in your rated lobby, with the PvP titles they have actually earned. Gladiator, Duelist, Hero of the Alliance -- visible the moment you zone in, so you know who you are playing against before the gates open.

Description

You cannot tell who you are facing from a rating

A multi-gladiator rerolling a fresh character has no rating this season. The scoreboard tells you nothing about them. WoW PvP Ranks answers the question the rating cannot: what has this player actually done?

Zone into a Solo Shuffle, a Blitz, an arena, or a rated battleground, and a panel opens listing everyone in the lobby, split into My team and Enemies. For each player, it shows the most recent title they have earned in Arena, in Solo Shuffle, and in Blitz, with the season it was earned in. A gold NOW means this season. A small number in the corner counts how many seasons they have taken a cutoff title.

It is careful about what it does not know

Three states, and they are deliberately different:

  • an icon — they earned something
  • a dim dot — read, and they have earned nothing
  • a dashed ? — never read, which is not the same as nothing

Nothing on the panel is ever displayed as a bare 0. A guess that later needs correcting is worse than silence.

A record of everyone you have met

At the end of every rated match the addon reads the final scoreboard — the one moment the client prints a settled rating for every player on it, opponents included — and files what it saw. The History tab is the running record of everyone this account has ever faced, with the best rating each was watched settling at. It builds itself by playing.

It talks to nothing

No HTTP, no account linking, no telemetry, no external service of any kind. Every value on the panel comes from your game client or from the addon's own saved data on your disk. The companion site at wowpvpranks.com is a separate project the addon never contacts.

Getting started

Install, log in, and it works. One thing is worth setting once:

/wpr season 2026-03-03

That tells it when the current season started, so a title earned this season lights up as NOW. From your next season change onward, it learns this by itself.

/wpr toggles the panel, /wpr config opens the settings, /wpr help lists everything else.

Known limits

  • English clients only, for now. Titles are classified by achievement name. On a non-English client, the index finds nothing, and the title slots stay unknown. Translations welcome.
  • Rated bracket numbering is learned from play rather than hardcoded, so the first match in each bracket teaches it. /wpr brackets shows what it knows.
