Windfury Glow

A glowing Windfury Totem reminder for TBC Anniversary shamans, with combat filters, party assignments and estimated teammate range.

Keep Windfury flowing for your party

Windfury Glow gives TBC Anniversary shamans a pulsing storm ring around their player portrait when their own Windfury Totem is missing during combat. It follows your player frame, leaves your portrait visible, and stays click-through.

Built for your assignment

  • Combat-only reminders: configure PvE, PvP, open-world parties, dungeons, raids, battlegrounds and arenas.
  • Your party matters: choose which teammate classes count. In raid groups, monitor your own subgroup.
  • Persistent range warnings: keep the ring glowing when a selected teammate is estimated outside your Windfury area.
  • Names above your player name: see who needs Windfury, who is estimated outside its area, and whose range is unknown.
  • Make it fit: adjust the ring size and portrait offsets, with an easy preview.
  • No required dependencies, sounds, chat broadcasts or automatic spell casting.

Quick setup

  1. Install and enable Windfury Glow, then type /reload if updating.
  2. Type /wfglow to open settings out of combat, or use Options > AddOns > Windfury Glow.
  3. In Party needs, choose the classes relevant to your assignment. Warriors, rogues and paladins start selected.
  4. In Totem range, choose whether to show names and keep glowing for unknown readings. Radius can be automatic, 20 yards or 30 yards.
  5. Use /wfglow test to preview the effect; repeat the command to turn the preview off.

Automatic alerts require your shaman to be alive and in combat. Manual preview is the setup exception. Living, online teammates count; known tank and healer roles are excluded from range monitoring. Class choices are assignment preferences, not automatic specialization detection.

How range estimates work

Range is estimated, not an exact measurement from your totem. Outdoors, the addon compares teammate positions with your recorded Windfury drop spot. Inside instances, limited party-distance checks can sometimes help while you remain at that spot. Moving away or reloading with a totem already down can leave its coverage unknown.

Unavailable readings are labeled Range unknown. They keep the ring glowing by default, even when everyone might be close. You can disable Keep glowing when range is unknown in Totem range settings.

The addon checks your own placed Windfury Totem, rather than your personal Windfury Weapon enchant. It does not inspect teammates' weapon enchants or time the lingering Windfury buff after totem twisting.
