WhoDis
WhoDis adds your main’s name before your chat messages in the channels you pick.
Non-users see your main character as an affix in chat (e.g. [MainName]: hello), while WhoDis users see your main character as the author. Works in all channels you enable.
IMPORTANT
If character name replacement is enabled, the right-click context menu in chat will target the main, not the actual alt who sent the message. This is a limitation of WoW’s UI and isn’t fixable by addons. It’s the trade-off for the cleaner look. You can still invite/whisper from your Guild Roster or Friends List as usual. This option is toggleable in the addon options menu.
WHAT IT DOES
Adds a compact tag: [MainName]: before your message.
Hides that tag for WhoDis users and shows your main as the sender. (If you enable it)
Supports Guild, Party, Raid, Instance, Say, Yell, Whisper/BN, Officer, and custom channels (General/Trade/etc.).
SETUP
Open Options → AddOns → WhoDis (or type /wd options).
Set Your Main Character Name.
Tick the channels you want it to affect.
For custom channels (General/Trade/etc.), click Refresh Channel List first.
COMMANDS
/wd main YourMain - set your main name
/wd options - open settings
/wd toggle - enable/disable the prefix on send
/wd collapse - show/hide the prefix when receiving
Tips
Want to verify it’s working? Toggle Collapse off and you’ll see [MainName]: in your own chat.
City/trade channels only appear in the list while you’re in a city; hit Refresh Channel List after joining/leaving.
That’s it. People always know who you are, even on alts.
Vibe coded nonsense, you can check source code on GitHub, and also report issues there. I will try to fix it asap.
