v0.2.9-beta-forever
What's new
Changelog
0.2.9
- Right-click a name in the chat history, a chat window's header or a conversation in the list for Invite to group, Add friend and Ignore (and Whisper for other players linked in a message). Battle.net friends can be invited while they play WoW Forever in your region.
- Someone you ignore gets Unignore in that menu instead, and is marked: a red X and greyed out in the list, Ignored in their chat window's header (their whispers can't reach you).
- The in-game AddOns list describes WhisperBox's notices.
0.2.8
- New option: Notices stay until you click them. Off by default, so notices still fade after 8 seconds.
- The options show one setting under New whispers for the chosen mode: the notice option, or Open chat windows during combat too for the open-the-chat mode.
- With notices, a whisper you type in the normal chat opens its chat right away, even in combat.
- Easier to find your conversations and their history:
- WhisperBox is listed in the add-on menu under the minimap clock (click: conversations, right-click: options; hover for the unread count);
- every chat window has an All chats button;
- the first notice tells you where the history is, and the login message is up to date;
- on the first login a welcome notice points the way; it stays until you click it (opens your conversations) or right-click it.
0.2.7
- Esc closes WhisperBox windows, like other game windows: one per press, the one you used last first. While you're typing, the first Esc just leaves the box.
0.2.6
- People who aren't on your friends list no longer flip to Offline right after they whisper you. The game's online check only finds characters on your own realm and called everyone else offline; that answer is now ignored unless the check has found them before.
- A status that had gone out of date ("Last message 12:47") shows Online again as soon as it's confirmed, instead of up to 30 seconds later.
0.2.5
- New whispers now show a small notice instead of opening the whole chat window. It has the
name and the message; click it to open the chat, right-click to dismiss it, drag it to move
where notices appear (
/wbox noticeshows an example). Notices also show during combat. - New whispers in the options switches between a notice, opening the chat (the old way) and only counting them. If you had turned pop-up windows off, it stays off.
- The Reply to last whisper key no longer types itself into the chat it opens (a
/orrappeared in the box). - New chat windows open where you last closed one, at the same size, instead of somewhere new every time. If a chat is already open there, the new one sits just beside it.
0.2.4
- Releases are now built and uploaded automatically. Nothing changes in the game.
- The options page shows the release version (a copy installed straight from the source code says "dev").
0.2.3
- New
/wbox status: shows what WhisperBox knows about who's online and what the game answers (for bug reports). - When someone's status isn't known, the chat window now says when you last talked ("Last message 12:47") instead of "Whisper".
- An old "Online" no longer stays on screen after the status goes out of date.
0.2.2
- Whispers that another addon's chat filter blocks (spam filters) are no longer recorded or popped up.
- Names with accented letters ("Élodie" / "élodie") no longer split into two conversations; older ones are merged.
- Alts that share a first name no longer share a history.
- Messages to a Battle.net friend you removed are reported instead of disappearing.
- Turning the Reply key option off only gives back the keys WhisperBox took.
/wbox w name messageduring a boss fight keeps the message in the box.- New
/wbox inlineand a tip when the game's New Whispers option would leave empty chat tabs. - GM whispers no longer play two alert sounds.
- Options and list fixes: no text over the options page, resetting positions keeps what you were typing, the delete confirmation no longer overlaps the row.
- New speech-bubble icon; the conversation list shows your own portrait.
0.2.1
- Online / away / busy / offline status for the people you chat with, not just friends; offline people are greyed out in the list.
0.2.0
- New look built from Blizzard's own window style (like the Friends window), with class-icon portraits.
- Minimap button with an unread count, dragged around the minimap.
0.1.x
- First versions: chat windows per person, conversation list, history, Battle.net whispers, WoW Forever first name + surname support, "Close all chats".
