WhisperFix

Temporary addon for World of Warcraft: Forever beta that restores whispers to characters whose names contain non-English characters (Chinese, French, Korean, etc.).

针对 《魔兽世界：Forever》 测试服的临时插件：修复对非英语角色名（中文、法语、韩文等）无法密语的问题。

Problem（问题）

On Forever, the chat edit box extracts whisper targets with a pattern that only matches ASCII (%w). For regional two-part names or CJK names:

• Typing /w Name … never enters whisper mode for non-English characters.
• Right-click → Whisper often inserts /cw Name and the message cannot be sent

Forever 聊天输入框用只匹配 ASCII 的模式（%w）解析密语目标。因此：

• 输入 /w 角色名 … 或点击非英语角色名无法进入密语状态
• 右键「密语」常变成输入框里的 /cw 名字，回车发不出去

Solution （修复原理）

WhisperFix hooks chat edit boxes after Blizzard’s own OnTextChanged handling. When the text still looks like a whisper slash command plus a non-ASCII target, it:

1. Sets the tell target (SetTellTarget)
2. Switches chat type to WHISPER
3. Leaves only the message body in the edit box

ASCII names are left alone so the client’s normal path is unchanged.

在暴雪自己的 OnTextChanged 处理之后再检查输入框。若仍是「密语斜杠命令 + 非 ASCII 名字」，则插件代为：

1. 设置密语对象（SetTellTarget）
2. 切换频道为 WHISPER
3. 输入框只保留正文

英文名字不干预，继续走客户端原有逻辑。

Install （安装）

1. Fully quit WoW
2. Extract so you have:
   World of Warcraft\_classic_beta_\Interface\AddOns\WhisperFix\
3. Launch the game and enable WhisperFix in the AddOns list
4. /reload if you installed while logged in.

Finished.

1. 完全退出游戏到桌面
2. 解压后目录应为：
   World of Warcraft\_classic_beta_\Interface\AddOns\WhisperFix\
3. 进游戏 → 插件列表启用 WhisperFix
4. 若在角色内安装，执行一次 /reload

Usage （使用）

Whisper via /w, /cw, /whisper, /tell, /t, or right-click character names → Whisper as usual

Status check: /wfix

照常使用 /w、/cw、/whisper、/tell、/t，或点击角色名密语

自检命令：/wfix

Safe to remove once Blizzard fixes the loader / edit-box parsing
