Description

WCL Tooltip

Shows WarcraftLogs rankings directly in player tooltips for TBC Classic Anniversary. Hover over any player to instantly see their per-boss percentiles, color-coded to match WCL's ranking tiers.

Should work on all servers data for every realm is included and updated regularly. Alot of testing still going on for anything outside of Nightslayer

The primary limitation currently is it's only showing the top 5000 results for each spec, per boss. (wcl api limitation that i have no desire to skirt around).

LFG integration, you can see these details for every player in lfg, including raids of up to 25-40 players with a header section with a summary of the group comps and estimates of each players likely spec (purly based on their best performance spec in logs which certainly can be wrong if someone is going OS.

New Group browser feature /wclb

This now works with LFG Bulletin as well, the LFG panel for this addon will display the individual or group from any listing in LFG Bulletin. IF those players are not also listed in the in game LFG, then it will not include party/raid members as there is no way to derive that data from a name.

Please do not be toxic with this, the intent here is to just get a vibe for what kind of group you are getting into so that you can tailor your expectations and likely your approach with that group.

Features

  • Tooltip Integration - Hover over any player (world, guild roster, /who results) to see their WCL rankings
  • Per-Boss Breakdown - Hold Shift to expand and see every encounter with spec, DPS/HPS, rank, and percentile
  • Historical Best (not available, probably won't happen without some clever api use as it requires hitting ever player individually vs getting an ordered list of the top 5000 characters per boss by percentile/dps/hps)
  • WCL Color Coding — Gold (100), Pink (99), Orange (95+), Purple (75+), Blue (50+), Green (25+), Gray (0-25)
  • Right-Click Menu  --- I will nuke this if there is a single known use that is toxic.
  • Report Frame:  Full in-game UI with search, checkboxes for selecting zones/bosses, channel picker, and per-boss-line chat output

  • Slash Commands:
    • /wcl  -  Addon status and character count
    • /wcl <name>  - Local colored lookup
    • /wclr <name>  - Open the report frame
    • /wcl report <name>  - Open the report frame
    • /wclb - open the LFG browser companion -- a little buggy on some of the update behavior/refreshing the list of dungeons at times, I'll get around to polishing it a bit more in the next few weeks. refresh icon on the in game LFG tool will refresh it properly.

How It Works

Ranking data is pre-fetched from the WarcraftLogs API and bundled with the addon. The dataset covers the top 5000 results per spec per boss, healing specs only look at HPS, dps/tank specs only look at damage. (This is ONE data point for any array of characters (mains, alts, complete new players) -- do not let it be the end all be all of all of your grouping decisions.)

  • Current global percentile per boss per spec
  • DPS/HPS throughput and global rank

Historical bests would be nice to achieve, but may not be likely for all ~130-140 thousand characters.

Data is updated regularly, just update the addon to get the latest rankings. No configuration or API keys needed.

Data Updates

Rankings are refreshed periodically and published as addon updates. If you don't see data for a player, it means they haven't logged any kills on WarcraftLogs yet.

- There's nothing special or mysterious, top 5000 characters, per spec, per boss are tracked, overtime this will mean a lower and lower percentage of characters have data, and the tooltip/LFG features may become increasingly more useless.

There may be ways to track alts with the standard WCL V1/V2 api's but that would require people configuring that within WCL and there would have to be a decent WCL API endpoint for it which im not sure about at this time.
