Waystone: Forever Leveling Guide & Buffs
The free leveling companion for WoW Forever: step-by-step guides, dungeon help with maps, Travel Mode, and a full party and raid buff manager. Expanding and evolving every week.
One download, in parts you choose. Use the guide, Buffs, or both: each works alone.
Waystone Travel Mode
WoW Forever is beautiful. Travel Mode lets you see it. While you run, fly or sail with nothing to do, the whole interface fades away and only the world and your map pin's marker remain. The moment you fight, someone whispers or invites you, a quest mob comes into view, you open a window or you stop, it fades softly back.
- Never in your way. It never fades in combat or right after a fight, and it waits while a window is open or you type in chat.
- Look around freely. Moving the mouse while you run keeps the world in view.
- Yours to tune. Keep the minimap, chat or the guide's Next panel on screen, fade only on flights and boats, and choose how long it waits.
- One click away. The eye on the Next and Nearby panels, the minimap menu, a key of your own, or /waystone fade.
The leveling guide
Step-by-step routes, planned zone by zone, with the quests WoW Forever added. Every run and report you share makes them better for everyone.
Guides: every starting zone, levels 1 to about 12: Northshire and Elwynn Forest (Human), Coldridge Valley and Dun Morogh (Dwarf, Gnome), Teldrassil (Night Elf), Valley of Trials and Durotar (Orc, Troll), Camp Narache and Mulgore (Tauren), Deathknell and Tirisfal Glades (Undead) and Zephras Isle (Skyborne). Then, for every Horde race, The Barrens (12 to 18), The Barrens and Stonetalon (18 to 21) and Silverpine Forest and Hillsbrad (22 to 26), with the Wailing Caverns, the Ruins of Lordaeron and Shadowfang Keep as options. Durotar, Tirisfal Glades, Zephras Isle and The Barrens are played through from start to finish; the others are marked new in game, so tell us what you find. More routes toward level 30 are on the way.
- The next step, always on screen. Kill, collect, turn in, accept, train, with your XP an hour, the time to the next level and the time left on the guide.
- Target with a key or a click. Pick a key for the enemy the step needs and one for the NPC. Works in combat. An option marks your target with a raid icon.
- Quest items on a key. A key of your choice uses the item the step asks for.
- Town stops done right. Selling, training, class and pet quests, in one walk.
- Play your way. Tell Waystone how you play: Solo leaves out dungeons and group elites, With friends takes them all, Ask me lets you decide each one. Optional quests ask Do it or Skip.
- Your quests, nearby. The Nearby panel shows the quest NPCs and mobs around you, with a button to target each and the objective's count, and quests ready to hand in when you are near their NPC. For when you play without a guide, or where there is none yet. Full, Compact or Minimal.
- Accepts and turns in for you, if you switch it on.
- Points the way with the game's own map pin and a marker in the world that shows the distance: no extra addon needed.
- Bags nearly full? Waystone names the next place on the route to sell. No vendor near? It picks the cheapest grey items to destroy, one click each.
- Works well with Questie. Not needed, but its map and minimap icons show every spawn of a quest's mobs and items. Use one auto accept, Questie's or Waystone's, not both.
- The right guide, right away. Log in on a new character and Waystone offers the guide for your race and level. The list shows only your faction's guides, with the ones you have finished ticked done.
- Says what is ahead. What a trainer has for you, a flight path you have not found, and "You do not have this quest" when a kill or hand-in is for a quest missing from your log. Quests above your level wait until you reach it.
Dungeons, with maps
Every dungeon in a guide is your choice: all its quests, only the ones on the way, or skip it. Inside, Waystone has your back.
- Your quests for the dungeon. What you hold and its count, what you still miss and who gives it, what to finish first, and which mob drops each quest item.
- The bosses in walking order, with the quests each is for, ticked as they die. The Next panel names the next one.
- A map of the dungeon, laid out from the game's own minimap pictures, with every boss marked where you find them: Ragefire Chasm, the Wailing Caverns, Blackfathom Deeps, the Deadmines, the Stockade, Gnomeregan, Razorfen Kraul and WoW Forever's Ruins of Lordaeron. Make the map bigger with its corner grip.
- Look before you go. The minimap menu lists every leveling dungeon, with its quests and bosses.
Buffs
One place for every buff in your party or raid, and your own buffs kept in check.
- Who buffs what. The raid buffs page shows every buff in the group and who casts it on which group, class or member. The raid leader and assistants set it (or let everyone), and everyone running Waystone Buffs sees the same plan. In a party, anyone can. Auto-assign fills it in. Open it with Buff setup in the bar menu or the minimap menu.
- What is missing. The buff bar shows what your party or raid is missing and what runs out next. The Next buff button lines up the most urgent one, and a buff cast in combat counts at once.
- Your own buffs. Self-buffs like Mage Armor, Inner Fire, auras and aspects, weapon buffs like oils, stones and poisons, and Well Fed: Waystone keeps track, and flags it when the wrong one is up.
- Totems for shamans. A Totems row with one tile per element and its time left; the Next buff key drops a missing one. A Weapon tile keeps your weapon imbue up.
- In a party too. The Party buffs page has one column per member, and one cell for the whole party when someone knows the group spell.
- Full, Compact or Minimal, horizontal or vertical.
Make it your own
34 themes, dark and light, a text size for all of Waystone (Small, Normal or Large), and the game's own font or IBM Plex. You can also change the size of the windows and how see-through the background is. Try the themes live at waystoneforever.com.
Why one download?
Buffs, the guide and Travel Mode share one core: settings, the look, the keys and the help. Shipping them together keeps them in step. Parts you don't pick on first start are not loaded at all, so they cost nothing.
Getting started
- Install Waystone. On first start, a Welcome to Waystone window asks which parts you want: Buffs, the guide, or both. The others are not loaded; change it any time under settings > Modules.
- Guide: open the guide window (left-click the minimap button): it suggests a route for your race and level, and asks how you like to play.
- Settings: type /waystone, and pick your keys there: none are set at first. Travel Mode is under General. Searchable help: /waystone help.
Made with AI
Waystone is made by one player with the help of AI. The AI helps write the code, and builds the routes from Questie's quest database and Wowhead. We try to play test every route in game before it ships. Your reports go to the AI too: it turns them into fixes, so the guides get better.
You help shape it
We are building the leveling companion WoW Forever deserves, and we are building it with you. Found a wrong step, have an idea for the guide, Buffs or Travel Mode, or want to share your run? Every report is read, and it shapes the next release: Make Waystone better.
Free, and staying free
No paid tier, no account. Waystone is its own addon, written from scratch: it is not based on other addons.
If it saved you some alt-tabbing, a coffee helps keep the project free and alive.
Coming next: routes toward level 30 for Horde and Alliance, better raid buffing, and Professions, a new module.
