Waylaid Crates - Forever

Waylaid Crates shows what's missing to fill every Waylaid Crate in your bags, finds it at the auction house and tells you the cheapest way to finish each crate.

A Waylaid Crate can be filled with any one of the bundles listed in its tooltip (for example "20 Bolt of Linen Cloth"). Waylaid Crates counts what you already have and does the rest for you.

Crate tooltips

Hover a crate to see have/need for each bundle it accepts, and how many you're still missing.

The auction house panel

When you open the auction house, a panel opens next to it, styled to match. It lists every crate in your bags with the bundle you're closest to finishing.

• Click a missing item to search for it and open it in the buy view. The quantity is already set to the number you're missing, added up across every crate that needs it.
• Next moves on to the next missing item, crate after crate. The item you searched last stays highlighted.
• +N option(s): click a crate to see the other bundles it accepts.

Scan: what's the cheapest bundle?

Each crate has a Scan button that prices every bundle it accepts. The price is the real cost of the quantity you're missing, buying the cheapest listings first (and whole auctions for items that aren't commodities). It's not just the unit price times the quantity. Bundles are sorted from cheapest to most expensive, and the cheapest is shown in green. If the auction house doesn't have enough of an item, the addon tells you how many are short.

Scan all prices every crate in one go and looks up each item only once, even when several crates need it. Prices are saved per realm, so they're still there next time.

What counts as owned

Your bags and reagent bag always count. You can also include:

• Mail (on by default): your inbox as of your last mailbox visit, plus anything you've bought at the auction house since then. A line clears as soon as you buy what's missing, before you pick up the mail.
• Bank (on by default): your bank as of your last visit.
• Alts (off by default): what your other characters on the same realm and faction hold. An alt counts once you've logged into it with the addon enabled.

Away from the auction house

Type /crates anywhere to see what you're still missing. The minimap button does the same, and its tooltip lists what each crate still needs. It also appears in the addon compartment and in minimap button collectors.

Commands

• /crates — show or hide the panel
• /crates minimap — show or hide the minimap button
• /crates options — open the settings

You can also stop the panel from opening automatically with the auction house. A Crates button in the auction house search bar opens it whenever you want.
