What's new

4.2.0

  • Fixed: Preserve the last visible General background layout when Combat Log changes hidden chat geometry, preventing the shared frame from shrinking.

  • Fixed: Keep the ornamental chat border clear of the left screen edge so its corner is not clipped.

  • Fixed: Docked chat tabs reuse one persistent background; native tab cosmetics update each render to prevent flashing between geometry updates.

  • Fixed: Docked chat tabs use General geometry even with differing content bounds; ignore changing dock-manager bounds and shift chat decoration 3 pixels right.

  • Changed: Chat styling hides native chat/tab decorative textures and keeps tab labels white and opaque; disabling restores saved cosmetic values.

  • Changed: Outer chat background height reduced by another 2 pixels.

  • Fixed: Docked Combat Log uses the primary chat background bounds so switching tabs preserves the header and outer frame height.

  • Fixed: Apply the additional 3-pixel height reduction to the outer chat window, restoring the brown header height.

  • Changed: Chat header stays top-aligned with its height reduced by 3 pixels; removed the previous 4-pixel offset.

  • Changed: Brown chat header shifted down by 4 pixels.

  • Fixed: Brown chat header meets the outer frame without the previous 3-pixel gap.

  • Changed: Chat outer frame is 10 pixels shorter at the top, keeping the input edge fixed.

  • Changed: Chat header is 40% shorter and shifted down by 3 pixels.

  • Fixed: Chat header top follows the actual native tab instead of oversized dock bounds; chat backing stays opaque during native fading.

  • Fixed: Chat decoration uses the background strata for the ground, header and border; full input bounds include inactive input and its decorative textures.

  • Changed: Chat background encloses the full visible chat area, including the tab dock, side buttons and open input field.

  • Changed: Chat tracker background now includes a brown tracker header behind the native tabs, with the outer border above the tab row.

  • Fixed: Large whisper conversations size their chat area and message bubbles to the visible page, preventing outgoing messages and timestamps from being clipped on the right.

  • Added: Optional shared tracker backgrounds behind Blizzard chat and damage meter windows, with independent settings and click-through decoration.

  • Fixed: Lore Forever mini-player close button is centered vertically inside the title bar with a consistent right inset.

  • Changed: Removed Pocket guard from the minimap menu.

  • Changed: The minimap menu opens our dungeon compendium directly through "Dungeon" instead of a Group submenu.

  • Changed: The top info bar uses the original uncropped wood texture without added gold borders.

  • Fixed: Whisper targeting explicitly executes on mouse release, matching the working Forever secure target buttons.

  • Changed: RestedXP guide list has a clean bottom divider; the footer settings button and version label sit two pixels higher.

  • Fixed: RestedXP step list no longer calls legacy Slider methods on the native scrollbar, preventing the skin from failing during updates.

  • Fixed: Lite Inspect and Talents buttons now use the normal /inspect handler with the full character name, preserving spaces, without the old preliminary range check.

  • Changed: Lite whisper clipping meets the header and input field; header buttons sit one pixel higher. RestedXP guide steps use the same native scrollbar as Lite whispers.

  • Fixed: Removed parchment fade overlays from Lite whispers that caused visible rectangular seams at the message area edges.

  • Improved: Lite whispers use larger messages and smaller sender labels. Inspect, Talents and Target buttons stay visible regardless of distance. Header icons are shifted left.

  • Fixed: Unit frame backgrounds extend beneath the outer decorative rim to close gaps showing the game world.

  • Changed: Unit frames use an opaque black background instead of parchment beneath their bars and decorative border.

  • Fixed: Unit frame health bars extend beneath the upper decorative rim, covering the black background strip.

  • Fixed: The Played with list fills the available window height instead of stopping after 14 rows.

  • Fixed: Automatic quest sharing now spaces requests across all quests by at least five seconds, preventing bursts of group actions during quest synchronization.

  • Changed: Open PvP is automatically disabled in dungeons and raids and resumes outside with your saved settings.

  • Fixed: Group buffs mark unreachable members red and disable their buff clicks, including members outside your dungeon (for example Stockades versus Stormwind). Different instance maps and unloaded members no longer count as reachable when spell range is unknown.

  • Improved: Party/raid previews include a strongly red DPS-underperformance example. Preview health text reserves only the space it needs, and example names fit fully inside narrower frames.

  • Changed: Unit frames focus on health, resources and role/DPS identification. Buff/debuff rows and extra shield/healing numbers are removed, including for existing profiles. Role icons move beside the spec icon; no empty lower row remains. Shield/healing colors stay inside health. Direct absorb/heal APIs also keep supported indicators working when the optional prediction calculator fails.

  • New: Unit frame healing/absorb prediction: own incoming healing in light green, other incoming healing in darker green, a light-blue absorb shield strip visible at full health too, and a red strip for remaining healing absorption. Optional numeric line shows the full shield and incoming healing amounts, including your own share. Uses the game's heal prediction calculator with direct secret-value rendering; no combat-value arithmetic. Four separate options and sample previews are on the Unit frames page.

  • Improved: Role and DPS highlights tint the existing decorative unit frame border instead of adding a hard rectangular outline. Neutral frames restore the original border color; DPS deviation controls tint strength.

  • Fix: Unit frame auras retain known icons during restricted combat reads, using the same remembered-aura principle as Absorb. Readable instance IDs and expiry times remove auras that are actually gone. Group changes discard cached group auras. DPS/role outlines apply only to party and raid frames, not the standalone player or pet frame.

  • New: DPS deviation coloring compares overall DPS with the average of current damage dealers: above average green, below red, with stronger color for larger differences. Tanks, healers and unknown roles are excluded. Differences below 5% remain neutral; full intensity defaults to 50% and is adjustable. At least two readable damage dealers are required; combat keeps the last known comparison.

  • Improved: Party/raid previews now use 40 distinct names, matching class/spec icons, roles and resources. Empty health and resource bars are dark instead of brown. Separate settings add green outlines around healers when you tank, tanks when you heal, and the current group's overall DPS leader. Overall DPS and roles refresh outside combat; the last known DPS leader stays marked during combat, with no guessed ranking when data is hidden.

  • Improved: Unit frame settings now include normal/raid width, font size, spacing and resource modes per unit type (all, mana only, hidden). Health and resources show full current / maximum values plus percentage, including secret values in combat. Units with no resource no longer show a resource bar. Previews demonstrate mana, rage and energy.

  • New: Separate party and 40-member raid previews on the Unit frames settings page. Sample frames can be positioned while solo; their positions also apply to the real frames. Previews automatically hide in groups and combat and are not saved across sessions.

  • Improved: Unit frames show up to six buffs in the existing space below the bars (three on raid frames), with tooltips and a separate setting. Debuffs sit beside them with a red underline; frame size stays unchanged.

  • Improved: Compact unit frames now put the name and health amount directly on a darker class-colored health bar. The resource bar is readable and shows its name plus current/maximum values. A small class/spec icon, role and raid marker restore useful context; debuffs have their own row. Identity icons have their own option.

  • New: Unit frames (optional module, settings page "Unit frames", /wh unitframes): compact player, pet, party and raid frames without portraits, levels, realm names or duplicate percentages. Class-colored health, a thin resource bar, health amount, dead/offline status and up to three debuffs; secure targeting, unit menus and mouseover spell targeting. Shift + drag moves each block outside combat. Options include unit types, values, resources, debuffs, scale, position reset and restoring Blizzard frames. Target, focus and boss frames retain their original portraits, auras and cast bars. Layout changes during combat wait until combat ends.

  • Fix: Collapsed quests and Open PvP without players smoothly fade to just the header, without parchment or an outer frame. Expanding quests or detecting players restores the body.

  • Fix: Moving the quest tracker no longer leaves clipped content. The Lore Forever mini-player background now includes its title bar; the ornate tracker frame is preserved.

Unreleased

  • Fix: Lore Forever queue, history and journey overlays retain an opaque sheet using the shared tracker parchment, preventing underlying content from showing through.

  • Fix: Lore skin detects flat interior backgrounds independently of vertex tint, fixing dark story cards and player surfaces in parchment mode; atlas artwork stays visible.

  • Fix: Dragging the Lore Forever skin title bar now moves the original window and saves its position; the close button remains accessible.

  • Fix: Lore Forever skin removes dark flat interior fills in parchment mode so library, playlist and story text remain readable; icons and playback artwork stay intact.

Wayhearth 4.1.0 - Absorb bars

  • New: "Salvation for all" (paladin only, page "Group buffs" under the blessings per spec). Checked: everyone in the group except tanks also shows a missing Blessing of Salvation in the buff check, on top of the blessings of his spec; a click on the row casts it.
  • New: Absorb (add-on Wayhearth_Absorb, page "Absorb" in the settings, /wh absorb): every absorb on you - Power Word: Shield, Ice Barrier, Mana Shield, the Wards, Sacrifice, Templar's Bulwark, protection potions, item procs; the list of 169 spells is generated from the spell tables of the game, so all ranks and the new Forever spells are there - as a bar in the frame of the swing timer: the upper two thirds are the absorb (name and icon on the left, the amount it still soaks up on the right, the bar shrinks as it soaks up damage), the thin lower third is the timer (time left). It also works in combat: the absorbs you had when the fight began keep their bars with the real time, a shield you cast in the fight gets its bar from your own cast, and the amount is the total of the game passed on to the text and the bar without ever being read. With more than one absorb an extra bar adds them all up (it also catches absorbs that have no bar of their own). Shift + drag moves the bars, the page can show sample bars for placing them.
