What's new

Wayfinder 0.1.0
First release. Wayfinder answers "what should I do next" for Classic Era, Hardcore, and Season of Discovery — dungeons, raids, class quests, reputations, attunements, and professions, tracked against your actual progress and matched to your level, faction, and race, plus a built-in waypoint system that gets out of the way of whatever navigation addon you already use.
Added
Readiness scoring instead of a level number. A level range alone doesn't tell you whether you can actually walk into a dungeon — you might be missing an attunement quest, sitting below the reputation a boss requires, or several levels past the point where it's worth going at all. Each entry now shows Ready, In Progress, or Blocked, computed from your actual attunement quest status, reputation standing, and key items, not just whether a quest chain exists. Entries more than 8 levels above their top level are flagged as outleveled instead of quietly passing as "appropriate" — there's little XP or gear value left in a dungeon you've grown out of, and the addon says so.
Built-in waypoint arrow, with automatic hand-off to TomTom. If TomTom is installed, Wayfinder detects it and asks once whether to use TomTom's arrow or its own — after that, tracking a quest routes straight to TomTom and Wayfinder never draws a second arrow of its own. RestedXP and GuideLime get the same detection and choice, though neither exposes a way to switch its own arrow off from the outside, so choosing Wayfinder there only stops Wayfinder from adding a second one; it can't suppress theirs. Wayfinder's own arrow can look like Blizzard's native pointer or a custom Wayfinder-styled one, your choice in Settings.
Minimap and world map indicators, sharing the same target as the main arrow. A small arrow orbits the minimap's rim while the tracked point is out of view, and switches to a static pin the moment it's actually within the minimap's current visible range — not a fixed distance, since that changes with your minimap's zoom level. The world map gets a matching marker whenever it's showing the tracked point's own zone. Built on HereBeDragons-Pins, the same positioning library TomTom itself uses, rather than hand-rolled minimap math.
Custom waypoints you save yourself. Save your current position, or Alt+Left-click anywhere on the world map (or right-click the optional coordinate display) to drop a pin exactly there — either way, Wayfinder starts tracking it immediately. Saved waypoints get their own page: name them as you save, rename them later, delete them, reorder a whole list into an efficient visiting route, or export the list as plain text to hand to someone else, who can paste it back in on their own end.
Tracked quest now survives a UI reload. Previously, reloading the UI or relogging silently dropped whatever you were tracking — you'd have to go find and re-click the same quest. The addon now remembers what you were pointed at and puts the arrow back where it was on login.
Four ways to hear about new unlocks. A popup card with a thumbnail, a Raid-Warning-style banner across the screen, a line in your chat window, or nothing at all beyond the quiet badge-and-sound signal — your choice, changeable any time in Settings, previewed live the moment you pick it during first-time setup.
A write-up for every dungeon and raid, with clickable names. Every dungeon and raid entry — every wing, every attunement, both factions where routes differ — now has a short write-up covering the shape of the run and where its quests actually come from. NPC and location names inside are clickable: click "Thrall" in a write-up and get a waypoint straight to him, no coordinates to read and mentally place.
Class quest pages simplified. Class quest chains no longer split across separate Quests/Requirements tabs the way a dungeon's much longer quest list does — the chain and its own write-up both sit directly on Overview, since there's nothing else worth reserving tab space for on this entry kind.
A small Compact window, alongside the full Dashboard, for anyone who wants a lighter footprint docked somewhere on screen instead of a full window.
An in-app "what's new" page. Click the version number in the Dashboard's corner to see exactly what changed in the build you're running, without leaving the addon.
Data
All nine class quest chains (91 chains, 356 quests), 33 reputation factions, and every dungeon and raid entry cross-referenced against publicly available Classic databases and community-verified sources — including a full pickup/turn-in/coordinate mapping of the Karazhan Crypts attunement chain, which had gone unmapped in most trackers.
Known limitations
There's no support yet for hand-authored walking routes through tricky dungeon interiors — out of scope for this release.
