# WLC (WLootCouncil) made for Press W by Gremmer

WLC is a loot council addon built for **World of Warcraft: Forever**. The loot master sends items to the raid, every raider picks a response in a popup, the council votes, and the loot master awards the item with one right-click. Awarded items are handed out automatically through master loot or placed in the trade window for you, and every award is saved to a loot history that syncs across your guild.

**Everyone in the raid needs WLC installed** so they receive the loot popup and their responses reach the council.

---

## Loot sessions

- **Start a session** from the Loot List window, `/wlc start`, or the keybind. Each session can be given a name (for example "BWL Week 3"), or WLC names it automatically with the zone and date. Naming can be switched off in Settings.
- **Raider popup:** every raider sees each item with its icon, item level and slot, the gear they currently have equipped in that slot, a countdown timer and four response buttons (default: Need, Minor Upgrade, Off-Spec, Pass). They can add a note of up to 50 characters.
- **Answered items disappear** from the popup so the next item moves up; the popup closes once everything is answered. Unanswered items automatically count as "Timed Out" when the timer runs out.
- **Custom responses:** rename all four response buttons and set the response timer in Settings.

## Council window

- Shows every raider's **response, item level, equipped gear for that slot, guild rank, roll, vote count and note**, plus the **last item each player received and the date** they received it (taken from loot history).
- **Multi-voting:** each council member can vote for several candidates on the same item, but only once per candidate. Votes can be removed.
- **Right-click a player** to Award, Vote, Roll for that player, or Award to disenchant (if they're an enchanter).
- **Add Rolls** rolls 1-100 for everyone who didn't pass, visible to the whole council.
- **Reopen for Raid** re-sends the popup to anyone who hasn't answered.
- All session items are shown down the left side; sessions with more than 10 items add extra columns so no item is ever hidden.
- Players whose popup never confirmed it opened are marked **"No popup"**, so you know who to check on.
- **Observe mode** (optional): lets regular raiders watch the council window read-only.

## Council members

- Add council members by name or from your target; they are saved between sessions.
- Optionally include everyone at or above a chosen **guild rank**.
- The loot master and raid leader are always on the council.

## Master loot automation

- While you're master looter, **opening a corpse can hand out loot automatically by quality**. For each tier (Epic and better, Rare, Uncommon, White/Gray) choose: give to me, give to a specific player, or leave on the corpse.
- Items left on the corpse at or above your chosen quality are **collected onto your Loot List** ready for the next session.
- Awarding an item that's still on an open corpse gives it to the winner directly through master loot. If the loot window is closed, the item is handed out the next time you open that corpse.

## Loot List and bag scanning

- **Scan Bags** adds every item in your bags that still has a **trade timer** (the "You may trade this item..." countdown) to the Loot List in one click, with the time left shown for each item.
- New tradeable loot can be added automatically as it lands in your bags.
- **Alt + Shift + Left Click** (rebindable) on any item adds it to the Loot List.
- `/wlc add [item link]` adds an item by link.

## Auto-trade

- When you award an item that's in your bags, WLC queues it for the winner. **When you open a trade with that player, WLC puts the item in the trade window for you.**
- The **Trades** window lists every item still waiting to be handed out, who it's for and how long its trade timer has left.
- WLC confirms each delivery in chat once the trade completes.

## Disenchanting

- The **Disenchant** button lists every enchanter currently in the raid, with their Enchanting skill, highest first.
- **No one has to report their profession:** each raider's copy of WLC checks their own character for Enchanting and reports it to the loot master automatically.
- The award is recorded in history with the response "Disenchant".

## Loot history

- History is saved **per session**: date, time, session name, host and number of items. Click a session to see every award in it: time, winner (class colored), the item(s) they replaced shown as **old item → new item**, and their response.
- **Players tab:** lists everyone who has received loot, sortable by name, number of items or most recent award. Click a player to see everything they've received, newest first.
- History is **account-wide**: switch characters and it's still there.
- **Guild sync:** history is shared automatically with guild members running WLC, so you can see what dropped in raids you didn't attend. Deleted sessions stay deleted on your side. Sharing can be turned off.
- **Export** history as **CSV** or in a thatsmybis-style import format, for everything, one session or one player.
- Rename or delete individual sessions, or clear all history.

## Raid Check

- **Raid Check** tests whether every raider can receive WLC messages. It sends test messages and a short popup test, then lists who replied, who lost messages and who doesn't have the addon or is out of date.
- Results can be posted to raid chat.
- `/wlc version` shows which version everyone is running. Raiders with an older version get an on-screen warning when a session starts.

## Settings (`/wlc settings`)

- **General:** response timer, session naming, raid announcements, whether WLC asks to activate when you enter a raid.
- **Master Loot:** auto-distribution by quality, Loot List behavior, auto-adding tradeable loot from bags.
- **Responses:** rename the four response buttons.
- **Council:** saved council members, guild rank cutoff, observe mode.
- **Appearance:** accent color, font (supports LibSharedMedia fonts) and UI scale. Font changes apply to the whole addon immediately.
- **Hotkeys:** change the click-to-add binding. Keyboard bindings are also available under Key Bindings > AddOns.
- **Tools:** solo test session with fake raiders, Raid Check, history sharing, reset window positions.

## Reliability and performance

- Every message is a single short message within the game's addon-channel limits, so there are no multi-part messages that can be lost halfway. A send queue respects the game's message rate limit instead of having messages dropped, and messages are held during combat and encounter lockdowns and sent afterwards.
- Raiders who reload or zone in mid-session automatically ask the loot master for the current session. An open session also survives your own reload.
- Built to stay light: nothing runs while no session is active, timers stop themselves when nothing is counting down, windows only update while open, and bag scanning remembers results instead of re-reading tooltips.
