VeritasUI makes the default World of Warcraft interface cleaner and more convenient without replacing it. It works in both Retail World of Warcraft and World of Warcraft: Forever. Its settings live in the normal Options → AddOns panel under one VeritasUI entry, its windows look and behave like Blizzard's own, and it is built entirely from Blizzard's own art and APIs. If you didn't know it was installed, most of it should just feel like the game.
The suite is split into modules. Each does one job, has its own settings, and almost everything can be switched off individually. No other addons or libraries are needed.
Compatibility
- Retail World of Warcraft (Midnight)
- World of Warcraft: Forever
One download works in both games. Features that rely on something a game doesn't have (such as flying, Delves or Mythic+ in Forever) are left out there automatically, so you only see options that apply. Forever support is newer and still growing.
Interface: a cleaner screen
- Fades the chat window, micro menu, bag bar, chosen action bars, player frame, buffs and debuffs, minimap buttons and alerts, damage meter, objective tracker, and reputation/experience/honor bars until you need them, with mouseover, combat and damage bringing them back
- A faded-opacity slider for each fade, from fully hidden to fully shown, plus a fade delay
- Smart exceptions: buffs about to expire, resources still refilling, your focused quest, quests ready to turn in, and vehicle or quest controls on Action Bar 1 stay visible
- Optionally hides top banners (by kind), the talking head popup and its voice, costumes and transformations (by group), and red error text (all of it, or only the kinds you pick)
Quality of Life: small conveniences
- Item levels on gear in bags, bank, warband bank, character panel and merchants
- Auto equip upgrades (opt-in, by quality), auto sell junk, and auto repair with guild or personal funds
/waywaypoints using WoW's own map pin, and/notemap notes- NPC shortcuts: auto accept and auto turn in quests (separate options, Shift pauses them; reward choices are always yours)
- Tooltips showing a unit's target, a player's mount (and whether you own it), class-coloured names and faction
- Character sheet checks for missing enchants and gems, durability per slot, and diminishing-returns details in stat tooltips, plus your Mythic+ rating in Retail
- Chat: link tooltips on hover, timestamps on every message, a copy chat button, remembered chat and typed history, and a choice of whisper sound
- In Forever: a trainer button by the minimap that shows when your class trainer has new skills for you, with the full list one click away
- AFK screen, Train All at trainers, auto unwrap, auto open containers, and more, plus Delve counts on the objective icon and a Great Vault button by the minimap in Retail
Auction House: prices and faster selling
- Scan the whole auction house and see prices in every item and battle pet tooltip, styled like Blizzard's Sell Price line
- A sell strip on the Sell tab listing your sellable bag items for quick posting
- Reagent value on the Place Crafting Order form
Zone Quests: a tidy quest tracker
Tracks only the quests for the zone you're in, updating as you travel, including a dungeon or raid's own quests. Campaign, important and daily/weekly quests can stay visible everywhere.
Priority Rotation: one-button play
An accessibility tool: one key steps through a list of spells, macros and trinkets that you choose. Each specialization keeps its own list, and you control how often each ability comes up and which wait for channelled spells. Open it with /pr.
Advanced Options: WoW's hidden settings
Many useful game settings (CVars) that the Options panel doesn't show, such as camera distance, nameplates, combat text and graphics, as ordinary checkboxes and sliders with reset buttons. You can also search and edit every setting, find the ones another addon changed (including leftovers from ElvUI), and reset them. Open it with /ao.
Commands
/vui lists every module's command. /vui copy copies settings from another of your characters.
