UpgrAid
Stop checking every item at the upgrade vendor. UpgrAid puts a small icon on gear that can be upgraded for gold alone, with no crests, and optionally on bag items that are better than what you have equipped.
Features
Free-upgrade icon
- Marks every item, equipped or in your bags, that can go up at least one upgrade level for gold only.
- Crests waived by the upgrade discount count as free; a crest cost that is only reduced still counts as a cost.
- A tooltip line shows exactly what you get, for example
Free upgrade 671 -> 684 (+2). - After you upgrade an item, its icon updates right away: it disappears, or shows the free levels that are left.
Better-than-equipped icon (optional)
- Marks bag items with a higher item level than what you wear in that slot, or the same item level on a higher upgrade track (Champion → Hero → Myth).
- Handles rings and trinkets (compared with your weaker one), two-handers vs. main hand + off-hand, dual wielding and Titan's Grip.
Only gear you can use
Both icons skip gear your character can't use: the wrong armor type, a weapon type your class doesn't use, or the wrong primary stat. A warbound Strength axe in your Rogue's bags gets no icon.

- Baganator (two icon-corner widgets you can place in Baganator → Icon Corners)
- EllesmereUI Bags
- Character pane: the free-upgrade icon on your equipped items
No libraries needed. Baganator and EllesmereUI are optional.
How to use
- Visit an item upgrade vendor once. UpgrAid scans your gear automatically when the upgrade window opens. The game only reveals upgrade costs while that window is open, so this is the one step it can't do for you.
- The results are saved per character, and the icons show everywhere from then on.
- Visit the vendor again after you pick up new gear to refresh the free-upgrade icons. The better-than-equipped icon needs no vendor and is always current.
Settings
Open Settings → AddOns → UpgrAid, or type /upgraid.
- Turn each icon and the tooltip line on or off.
- Choose an icon style (coin, arrow, star, checkmark, gem, chest and more), a corner and a size for each icon.
- Scan automatically when the upgrade window opens, or click Scan now.
Changes apply immediately; no /reload needed.

/uaid works as a short form.
Good to know
- New items show the free-upgrade icon only after your next vendor visit. The game doesn't provide upgrade costs anywhere else.
- During a scan, the upgrade window visibly flips through your items. That's normal, and the item you had in the window is put back afterwards.
- "Better" means item level and upgrade track only. UpgrAid doesn't weigh secondary stats, set bonuses or sockets; use Pawn or a similar addon for that.
- Bank and warband bank items are not marked.
