Upgrado
Tells you what gear upgrade is worth doing tonight.
Upgrado is a lightweight upgrade guide for World of Warcraft: Forever, built for players who don’t have hours to theorycraft. Open your Character panel and every gear slot worth upgrading gets a small pip. Look at it and Upgrado tells you what to chase, where to get it, roughly how long it’ll take, and whether you’ll need a group. It’s scored for your class, spec and current gear.
No big windows, no spreadsheets, no nagging.
How it works
Pips on your gear slots
- Green: there’s an upgrade you can realistically get tonight.
- Gold: there’s a bigger goal worth working towards.
- No pip: nothing worth your time for that slot right now.
A card for every slot. Hover a pip (or select it with a controller) to see what you’re wearing, then the best upgrade from each source:
- Dungeon: which boss drops it, an estimated drop chance, about how long a run takes, and how many times you’ve killed that boss.
- World:
- quest rewards, including where you’re up to in a quest chain;
- vendor items, with the price, any money or reputation you still need, and Honor gear in PvP focus;
- gear you can ask another player to craft.
- Crafting: gear from your own professions, including your skill, whether you know the recipe, and how many of the reagents you already have.
Gains are shown in plain terms, like “+12% overall”, compared with what you’re actually wearing.
Sized to your evening
Tell Upgrado whether you’ve got 20 minutes, an hour or an evening, and whether you play solo. “Tonight” picks fit inside that. Bigger goals stay visible without crowding it. When two options are close, Upgrade prefers:
- one that needs no detour (the quest’s already in your log, or you have all the reagents);
- one in the zone you’re standing in;
- one that will last longer before something better becomes wearable.
Hunts
Pin any suggestion and a small tracker keeps score as you go: reagents, boss kills, quest steps, money, reputation, Honor and rank. Upgrado notices when you get the item. Hunts never expire, and a short welcome-back summary reminds you where you were next time you log in.
Also included
- Where next? One button that groups every suggestion by place, so you can plan a trip (“Scarlet Monastery: 3 upgrades · about an hour, group”).
- Quest reward highlight: marks the reward choice that’s an upgrade for you.
- Rings and trinkets are scored per slot, and Upgrado tells you when upgrading the other one would be better.
- Stat weights you can tune: sensible defaults for every spec and for PvE or PvP, and you can adjust them if you know better.
Honest about what it doesn’t know
Forever hides many item stats until someone discovers them. Upgrado checks each item against its expected stat budget. Anything that looks short says “may have hidden stats”, and its gain is shown as “at least +X%”. Times, drop chances and stat weights are always labelled as estimates. Upgrado never presents a guess as fact.
Drop chances are estimated from each boss’s own loot list. Upgrado doesn’t use Wowhead or other site data: those numbers come from Classic Era, not Forever.
Controller friendly
Upgrado works with the gamepad interface. Select a pip to bring up its actions (hunt it, cycle suggestions). Settings and stat weights live in a Settings button on the Character panel, so you never need a mouse. Upgrado is also careful never to interfere with Blizzard’s own controller navigation.
Getting started
- Install Upgrado (and ideally QuestieDB; see below).
- Log in and open your Character panel.
- Open your profession window once, so Upgrado can read your recipes.
- Hover or select a pip.
Settings are under the Settings button on the Character panel, or Options → AddOns → Upgrado with mouse and keyboard.
Works best with QuestieDB
QuestieDB (optional) tells Upgrado where items drop, which quests reward them and who sells them. Without it, Upgrado can only suggest crafts.
Good to know
- Prices: Upgrado learns real vendor prices (gold, Honor, other costs) from vendors you’ve opened. Until then, prices are estimated.
- Only suggests: Upgrado never equips, buys, crafts or moves anything.
- Beta: this is an early beta on a new game. Estimates will get better, and feedback and bug reports are very welcome.
