Play Two. Stay In Sync.
Twofold is a World of Warcraft addon for players who manually operate two characters or coordinate closely with a second player. It brings your partner's quest progress, character readiness, and session information together in one place, reducing the need to compare two quest logs by hand.
Features
- Live Quest Comparison: See which quests are shared, missing, completed, or ready to turn in. Search and filter even large quest logs.
- Party Progress: Select the quests that matter and compare both characters' objective progress in a compact tracker.
- Manual Quest Sharing: Inline Share and Ask controls use the game's native sharing rules and require explicit player actions.
- Session Readiness: Compare free bag slots, equipment durability, and personal preparation checks.
- Session Notebook: Record a shared goal, character-specific context, optional tasks, and last-exit information.
- Leveling Statistics: Compare XP gained, rested XP, session and recent XP/hour, estimated time to level, and measured progression differences.
- Party Buff Assistance: Inspect supported learned buffs and show manually clicked spell buttons near supported party frames.
- Party Healing Assistance: Use configured, manually clicked healing buttons without changing the current target.
- Two UI styles: Modern Dark and Classic.
Manual play by design
Twofold does not mirror inputs, cast spells automatically, accept quests automatically, or control another game client. Spellcasting and native quest sharing require deliberate player clicks. Combat restrictions and native quest eligibility always apply.
Supported clients
Separate beta files are offered for:
- World of Warcraft: Forever — 1.60.1 (Interface 16001)
- World of Warcraft: Retail / Midnight — 12.1.5 (Interface 120105)
Download the file that matches your client; do not mix the two packages.
Getting started
- Install the matching beta ZIP in your client's
Interface/AddOns/directory. - Enable Twofold and enter
/tf helpin-game, or use its minimap launcher. - If coordinating with another character or player, both participating clients must have Twofold enabled and be in the same party.
- Run
/tf syncto request fresh quest information. Use/tf commto inspect message-queue diagnostics.
Supported UI frames
Twofold can position manual buff/heal icons beside detected Blizzard and EllesmereUI party frames. A movable fallback dock is available when native attachment is unavailable. Twofold is not affiliated with either addon provider.
Current beta limitations
This is a public beta, not a stable release. Some client APIs restrict aura/quest information during combat; protected spell buttons cannot be freely reconfigured in combat. Some classes and spells have only limited support. Larger parties and additional third-party unit-frame layouts need further testing.
Twofold primarily compares one partner at a time. Cross-client data is exchanged using WoW's in-game party addon messages; no external service is required.
Feedback welcome: Please include the client flavor/version, Twofold version, steps to reproduce, and any Lua error text. Never post account credentials or raw SavedVariables containing sensitive information.
