Description
TrueshotLodge
The hunter's field guide to every tameable beast in WoW Forever.
Introduction
Every great pet starts with knowing where to look. TrueshotLodge puts the whole of hunter pet taming in one window, right in the game: every pet ability and every rank, the beasts that teach them, where to find those beasts, which pet trainers sell what, and a look inside your own stable, even when you are nowhere near a stable master.
Want Bite Rank 3 for your new cat? Open the ability, pick the rank, and TrueshotLodge lists the beasts that have it when tamed, with their levels, their zones and a button that pins every spot they have been seen on your world map. Wondering what your wolf in the stable could still learn? Your stable is kept in the addon, stats and abilities included, so you can check it from anywhere.
Built for WoW Forever:
- 750 tameable creatures across 18 pet families, with their levels, zones and map locations
- Every pet ability and rank: what it does, the pet level it needs, its training point cost and who can learn it
- New in Forever: creatures and families added in WoW Forever carry the ∞ mark
- Verified tames: a green dot marks creatures TrueshotLodge users have actually tamed, with the date on hover
- Rare and elite creatures stand out: rares glow gold, elites carry a skull
- NPC tooltips: hover a tameable beast in the world to see its family, attack speed and the abilities it teaches
- Colors that mean the same thing everywhere: yellow is known, green is ready to learn, grey is not yet within reach
Open it from the minimap button or with /tsl (or /trueshotlodge).

The UI
TrueshotLodge looks and feels like the game's own profession window: a list on the left, the details on the right, and tabs down the side. Hold a side tab for a moment to drag it up or down the column and put your tabs in the order you like (saved for each character). The Zone Filter checkbox in the title bar narrows everything to the zone you are standing in.
Unique Abilities
The abilities only one pet family can learn: Charge for boars, Prowl for cats, Lightning Breath for wind serpents, Web for spiders and the rest. Each ability is headed by its family's icon, with its ranks underneath.
Select a rank to see:
- what it does, the pet level it needs, its training point cost and which family learns it
- the tameable creatures that have that rank, lowest level first, each with its level, its zone and a Map Location button that opens your world map with a pin on every place it has been seen
- whether your pet already knows it
Use the Filter menu to show only the ranks your level has reached, or only the abilities your active pet's family can learn.
Common Abilities
The abilities many families share, such as Bite, Claw, Cower, Dash, Dive and Growl, laid out the same way: every rank, what it does, who can learn it, and the creatures you can tame it from. Filter by level or by your active pet.
Passive Abilities
The passives your pet learns from a trainer: the five resistances, Great Stamina and Natural Armor, with every rank, its level and its cost.
Passive Attack Speed
Every beast attacks at its own speed, and keeps it when tamed. This tab lists each attack speed (Faster Attack I to VII, Slower Attack II and III) with all the creatures that have it, so you can hunt down the fastest pet of the family you want.
Trainers
The pet trainers, grouped by zone and colored by faction. Select one to see their title, level, location and coordinates, with a small map of the zone and a pin on the trainer; click it to open your world map there. Filter by faction to see only the trainers who will teach you.
Stable
Your pets, cached and kept in the addon so you can look them over anywhere, laid out like the game's own pet window:
- your Current Pet and your Stabled Pets slots across the top, with slots you have not bought yet shown in red
- the selected pet's name, level and family, with its stats: health, armor, damage, attack power, attack speed, movement speed, resistances and abilities, each with its icon (hover one for the full tooltip)
- its 3D model, and its experience bar
- when you last visited a stable master
A pet is remembered the last time it was out, so even a pet sitting in the stable shows its stats and abilities.
Options
The settings, grouped and explained, in the same list-and-details layout:
- General: the minimap icon, NPC tooltips, and remembering your selections between tabs and sessions
- Visual: the window's UI scale (50% to 150%) and resetting the tab order
- Collection: Collect Mode (see below), and Send Name: put your character's name on the beasts you tame, to be credited on the website (off by default: your finds stay anonymous)
- Data Sharing: who your collected finds are shared with (your shard, your zone, your group, the TrueshotLodge moderators), and whether to take in what other users share
- Advanced: debug messages, for troubleshooting
Collected Data
Only shown while Collect Mode is on. TrueshotLodge's data grows with its players: with Collect Mode on, the addon quietly records the beasts you tame (and the abilities they came with), the tameable creatures you meet in the wild, and the pet trainers you talk to. This tab lists all of it, with what is not yet in the addon's data highlighted. What you collect helps fill in the gaps for every hunter, from missing attack speeds to creatures nobody has mapped yet.
The Bounties entry at the top of this tab shows what TrueshotLodge most needs found (see below).
Bounties
The beasts and abilities hunters most need found, posted as bounties. In the addon, Bounties is the first entry on the Collected Data tab:
- Wanted Rares: the top 5 rares nobody has tamed yet that you can tame now (up to your level), the highest level first, each with its level, zone and a Map Location button. Tick the Zone Filter in the title bar to see only the ones in the zone you are in.
- Whether Send Name is on, and how many tames you have collected.
The full list is on the website at TrueshotLodge.com/bounties:
- Missing Tamed Rares: rares no TrueshotLodge hunter has tamed yet, lowest level first
- Missing Attack Speed: creatures whose attack speed nobody has recorded
- Missing Zone: creatures nobody knows the whereabouts of
- Unique Abilities without Source: ranks of a family's unique ability that no known tameable creature has, each with its Potential Tameable Targets: the family's untamed beasts between the levels of the ranks around it
To claim one: turn on Collect Mode, track the beast down (a look at its nameplate records its attack speed and where it
lives; a tame records the abilities it came with), then upload your TrueshotLodge.lua at
TrueshotLodge.com. We check what you found and add it for every hunter. With
Send Name on (Options, Collection), your tame is credited to you on the creature's Tamed badge: "Verified Tame:
date by your name".
Help fill in the gaps
Some data is still missing: creatures whose attack speed, level or zone nobody has recorded, ranks of the families' unique abilities with no known tameable creature, and rares no TrueshotLodge hunter has tamed yet. The Bounties on the website, and in the addon's Collected Data tab, list them.
Turn on Collect Mode, go hunting, and upload your TrueshotLodge.lua at
TrueshotLodge.com. With Send Name on, the beasts you tame carry your name onto
the website's Tamed badge.
Thank you!
