What's new

1.5.0

Added

  • World of Warcraft: Forever. True Sequencer runs on the Forever client - the 1.60.1 beta today, the November 4 launch when it lands. It ships a _Camelot manifest (Forever's own TOC suffix, interface 16001), and because Forever is the 2004 game on the modern engine, the Classic Era kits come across as the Forever starter kits with every Forever spell change patched in from the client data: the Bane of Agony and Bane of Doom renames, Fire Nova as a spell instead of a totem, one Faerie Fire and one Mangle for every form, and the abilities Forever hands out earlier slotted into the kits where they belong - Victory Rush, Holy Strike, Consecration, Seal of Fury and Hammer of the Righteous straight from the trainer, and Holy Shock, Penance, Holy Nova, Prayer of Mending, Lava Burst, Riptide, Blast Wave, Ice Lance, a Pyroblast opener, Shadowburn, Incinerate, Mangle and Wild Growth from a low talent with the trainer teaching the higher ranks. Each is a plain line that only fires once you know the spell. Spell IDs that moved (the Burst button's included) resolve on every language client, and the new Skyborne race's abilities are known to the resolver. Unlearned lines are skipped by the game, so a level 12 and a level 60 share one kit safely.
  • Plain-macro engine. The Forever client cannot compile the secure snippets the stepped engine runs on (the compiler is missing from the beta build), and the failure was silent - every step table simply came back empty. The buttons now probe for the compiler once per session and, when it is missing, drive each button as a plain macro: every press runs the first step of the loaded kit top to bottom. Nothing to configure; /tseq status says which engine is live (engine: plain macro or secure snippets), and the stepped engine comes back on its own the day the client can compile again.
  • Spellbook dump for missing-spell reports. /tseq dumpall opens a copy box with every spell your character knows - ID, rank, spellbook tab, passive flag - plus your talents and which game functions this client offers. Paste it with a bug report and a missing Forever spell gets added without a back-and-forth. On Forever it is also collected quietly at login.
  • The complete Forever spell database. Every class ability, every talent tree (all 27, tier by tier with ranks and prerequisites), every racial and the race and class matrix of World of Warcraft: Forever, read from Wowhead's Forever data and checked against nine beta characters' in-game spellbooks, now drive the Forever kits: over a thousand spell names resolve to their Forever IDs, so every kit localizes on every language client, and Skyborne is known as both its peoples (the High Order on the Alliance, the Windshapers on the Horde).
  • Kits from level 1 on Forever. Every class's first kit used to start at level 10, so a fresh character saw "no rotation for your class/level" until then. Forever's button engine is a plain macro that skips unlearned lines, so that kit now serves from level 1, and druids get a caster kit (Moonfire, Wrath) until their forms arrive at 10 and 20.
  • Settings on the Forever beta. That client writes its settings files on logout but reads none of them back, account-wide or per-character, which is why the welcome and starter notes returned every login and the panel sat back in the middle. Two things stand in now. While the client reads nothing at all, the one-time notes and the panel position ride in the TS_ST macro (macros live on the server), so they hold across logins today. And every logout also keeps a copy of everything in the character's own file, restored the moment the client reads that file again. One chat line and /tseq status say which is in effect. Other clients are untouched.
  • Talents in the spellbook dump on Forever. /tseq dumpall reads the Forever talent trees through the client's trait system (the classic talent functions do not exist there), so a dump carries your build too.
  • Debug bridge (opt-in, /tseq bridge). The session diary streamed out of the game as it happens: a thin strip of colored cells in the top left corner carries each line and a small desktop reader prints them live. Built for the author's own testing on a client that never saves its files; off by default and off until switched on.
  • Session diary in the saved file. One line per thing the addon did this login (which settings loaded, every macro step, the kit picked, windows it opened, panel moves, calls the game refused), written into the TrueSequencer file at logout and carried by /tseq bug. A session on the beta, which writes that file but never reads it back, can now be read from disk instead of from chat screenshots.

Changed

  • The combat log is closed on Forever. That client refuses addons the combat log outright, and the request itself is what raised the "blocked from an action" popup at login. The addon never makes the request on Forever now, and the two pieces that need the log go quiet there: the post-fight "debuffs that fell off" line and the built-in scanner's combat-log path. Every other client is unchanged.

Fixed

  • "Blocked from an action" popups on the Forever beta. Four causes, all closed: the combat-log request above; hooking the panel buttons during combat (the newest clients refuse script changes on secure frames in lockdown, so the hooks land at login and after combat now); and the error-spam mute and the action-bar re-point, which both notice a silent refusal and stand down for the session instead of asking again. When the game refuses any call, the bug report now names the function and carries the stack, so the next one is a one-paste fix.
  • The Burst button skipped Berserking on Forever. Forever keeps the 2004 spell for Berserking and the button only knew the later one, so Troll characters pressed Burst without it. Every Berserking variant is listed now (Era Troll warriors and rogues gain theirs too), and Forever's new offensive racials join the press: Elune's Light for Night Elves and Eureka! for Gnomes. A racial is never listed twice.
  • Dragging the panel during combat. The secure buttons anchor to the panel, so the game treats it as protected and refuses to move it while you fight; the refusal showed as a "blocked by the game" line on the Forever beta. A drag no longer starts in combat, one that combat interrupts finishes the moment combat ends, and a show, hide or restored position asked for mid-fight lands then too.

Known issue - the Forever beta client, not the addon

  • Options, profiles and records cannot fit in a macro, so on the beta they still reset every login until its loader is fixed; /tseq status shows settings: fresh (no file loaded) while that lasts. Nothing to fix on our side; it clears the moment the client does.
