A companion addon for Total RP 3 that keeps every -SOUL-, khem, roleplayer profile you have ever met and lets you share whole directories with other players.

Have you ever noticed how people you've already met do not appear when scanning the map?

Or has your friend ever had a TRP wipe, and you could not help them put their profiles back together cause your own TRP directory purged itself?

Worry no more, I have been there too many times, and so I hired claude and pestered it for hours untill it created this addon, specifically to keep a -Forever- list of people I've interacted with. I tested it so far on a combined database off roughly 20000 profiles, with no issues.

Directory Keeper keeps a separate, high-capacity archive next to TRP3's own data, so the directory can keep growing without hitting a hard limit. It's performance cost is negligible.

It is an unofficial addon. It is not made or supported by the Total RP 3 team. Please do not report Directory Keeper problems to them.

IMPORTS REQUIRE SOMEONE ELSES EXPORTED DATABASE, I MIGHT SET UP A DISCORD FOR SHARING THOSE IF PEOPLE LIKE THE ADDONS IDEA.

1. Download TRP3_DirectoryKeeper-<version>.zip, extract it into World of Warcraft\_retail_\Interface\AddOns\, so you get these three folders:
   • TRP3_DirectoryKeeper
   • TRP3_DirectoryKeeper_Archive
   • TRP3_DirectoryKeeper_Exchange
2. Restart the game. New addon folders are only detected at startup.
3. In the AddOns list on the character selection screen, choose All characters at the top, and make sure all Directory Keeper entries are enabled. They appear grouped under TRP3 Directory Keeper.

Play as usual. Open the Directory (Total RP 3 → Directory → Characters) to see everyone in the archive.

1. The Import (left wrench) and Export (right wrench) buttons are next to the search button at the bottom of the Directory > Characters tab.
2. Importing: with the game closed (or at character selection), put the received file in the same directory as the export: Warcraft\_retail_\WTF\Account\<YOUR ACCOUNT FOLDER>\SavedVariables\TRP3_DirectoryKeeper_Exchange.lua - Log in, open the characters tab and click Import. The game reloads after the import.
3. Exporting: click Export, confirm, then reload. The file is stored at: Warcraft\_retail_\WTF\Account\<YOUR ACCOUNT FOLDER>\SavedVariables\TRP3_DirectoryKeeper_Exchange.lua - The game shows this path, and how to find your World of Warcraft folder, after each export/import.

Both players need the same Total RP 3 version.

• Uninstalling is safe. Total RP 3 keeps its own directory. The archive file (TRP3_DirectoryKeeper_Archive.lua in SavedVariables) stays on disk until you delete it, and also works as a backup of everyone you have met.
• Imported profiles and TRP3's Report button: an imported profile shows the exporter's last-seen date, and Blizzard cannot verify a report about a profile you never received yourself. Report only what you have seen in game.
• Companion details: pets and mounts from the archive may miss some tooltip details until you meet their owner again.
• After a Total RP 3 update that changes its data format, Directory Keeper pauses and leaves the archive untouched until it is updated too. /tdk shows why.

At login, after Total RP 3 has loaded and run its own cleanup, the archive is added to TRP3's directory in memory. At logout, the archive is updated from TRP3's directory, and the entries that were only added for display are taken back out before the game saves TRP3's file.
