TriviaBot Midnight

Purpose

TriviaBot allows the user to host quiz games for other players.
Spamming it in /say in crowded places is not a good idea,
but Blizzard's spam prevention makes it alot harder to abuse it that way currently.

It's a nice and safe pass-time among consenting adults. :-)
Used best in a party with friends or to liven up that "dead" guild chat.

Midnight

Triviabot is now updated for 12.0.1. As the game updated multiple times since the last update came from the original Author marspett I decided to publish this fixed version so everyone can be frustrated again when you misspell a NPC name from 6 Addons ago.

Known bugs:

• The custom channel name textbox is still visible but not usable

Usage

• /triviabot or /trivia to bring up it's control panel.
• use dropdowns to choose your set of questions and categorys
• set the chat channel and other settings like question interval and question time limit

Other Commands

• /trivia help will list other commands.
• !tb help whispered to a game host will list other whisper commands.

Quizzes

Like the original version there are still no pre packaged question lists. You can try to use the following question lists, if they are still available to download.

My recommendation is the Lorewalkers of Silvermoon question list, available on curseforge.

Be aware: You have to manually set the addon version of every question list you download to work in Midnight if it was not updated by the authors of the question lists. To do this, download the questions list into your AddOns Folder, open the addon folder, open the .toc file with your favourite  editor and add the number 120005 to the end of the line where it says ## Interface and save. It should look like this:

You need at least one quiz plugin installed for TriviaBot to be able to host a game.

Making your own load on demand Quiz

• A sample addon and basic instructions (README_EN.txt) on how to create your own quiz
  can be found in TriviaBot\Questions\ sub-folder coming with TriviaBot v2.8.0 and later.
• TriviaBot_QuestionMaker is still available for helping with the question file.
  More details on the QuestionMaker page on how to submit your questions for inclusion to a Quiz Plug-in.

Disclaimer

I only fixed the errors, replaced old API calls and external libs so TriviaBot works again in Midnight. There are no new features or planned new features. All credit goes to the original authors of TriviaBot.
