TmogHunta 0.10.1 — Global Search from Anywhere

This update introduces a new global collectible search system. You can now search for mounts, pets, toys, and transmog sources without traveling to the zone where they are located.

Main Features

Global Search from Anywhere

Search for collectibles regardless of your character’s current location.

For example, you can stand in a capital city, search for a mount by name, and find its known source, boss, zone, and difficulty information.

Global Search supports:

• Mounts
• Battle pets
• Toys
• Transmog appearances

Global Search is enabled by default and can be turned off in the addon settings.

Local Discovery Database

TmogHunter now gradually builds its own searchable database while you play.

The addon stores discovered collectible information in SavedVariables, allowing the database to grow over time without requiring a large bundled external database.

Stored information may include:

• Collectible and item names
• Bosses and encounters
• Zones and locations
• Source descriptions
• Difficulties
• Transmog set names
• Previously discovered names and sources

Search coverage will improve as the addon discovers more information from Blizzard’s APIs.

Dedicated Favorites Button

Favorites are now available through a separate button instead of being mixed with the regular filter controls.

This makes it faster to switch between normal results and your saved collectibles.

Favorites continue to persist between sessions and can store additional source and location information.

Search Improvements

• Added matching against alternative and previously discovered names.
• Added search support for boss names, zones, source descriptions, difficulties, and set names.
• Improved matching for incomplete or delayed Blizzard API data.
• Preserved older source information when Blizzard returns a newer but less complete record.
• Improved remote collectible results when searching outside their original zone.
• Limited the displayed list to the 100 most relevant results.

Performance Improvements

• Reworked Global Search so it no longer sorts every matching record.
• Added bounded background indexing to avoid large single-frame workloads.
• Background discovery pauses when Global Search is not needed and resumes from the previous position.
• Reduced unnecessary interface refreshes while the search database is being built.
• Added a session cache for transmog compatibility checks.
• The “Wearable by my character” filter is now applied before the result limit.

These changes keep search responsive even as the local database becomes larger.

Favorites Improvements

• Fixed remote search results incorrectly using the player’s current location when added to Favorites.
• Favorites now preserve the actual discovered location whenever it is available.
• Added support for storing multiple known bosses, locations, sets, sources, and difficulty names.
• Improved Favorites search using the newly stored metadata.

Interface Improvements

    Added clearer messages for:

• • Background database loading
  • Partial search results
  • Blizzard API errors
  • Completed searches

• Improved result-count messages.

• Updated tooltips to distinguish between where a collectible was discovered and where it was saved.

• Added English and Russian localization for the new interface messages.

Fixes

• Fixed temporary transmog compatibility checks modifying persistent records.
• Fixed relevant wearable transmog results being excluded by the 100-result limit.
• Fixed background indexing restarting or losing its previous position.
• Fixed incomplete source updates overwriting more detailed stored information.
• Fixed several Global Search loading and empty-result states.

Important Note

Global Search is not a complete Outdoor Atlas. Routes and full outdoor-location datasets are not included in this release.

Search coverage depends on information exposed by Blizzard’s APIs and the data gradually discovered by the addon while you play.
