Torchcall

Guild recruiting for officers: find unguilded players, whisper or invite one per click, and track who joins and stays.

Torchcall

A guild recruiting addon for officers on World of Warcraft: Forever, built for The True Torchmen and usable by any guild.

It finds players with no guild, opens with one short question, helps you answer what they ask, and tracks who joined and who stayed. You press a button for every search, every whisper and every invite. It never contacts anyone by itself.

What it does

  • Search by level and class. Set a level range, pick any mix of classes, press Search. It keeps the players with no guild. Optionally limit it to your zone.
  • Always shows you something. A who search returns 50 players at most. When more are online the rest is lined up as batches; press Search again for the next one.
  • Prospect list. Name, level, class, zone. Whisper, Invite or Skip on every row. Sort by any column.
  • Invites that introduce themselves. Inviting someone new sends your opener first, so the invite box on their screen has a reason attached. Still one press, one player.
  • Next button or key binding. Works down the list, one player per press.
  • Nobody is asked twice. Every name you contact is remembered for good, and recruiters in the same guild share who they contacted.
  • Openers that find their own winner. Four opening whispers ship. With rotation on, the one that gets the most answers gets used most.
  • Answers, one press each. When someone writes back, Reply opens a panel with a button per topic (raids, PvP, leveling, new players, Discord) and highlights the one that fits what they said. All editable.
  • Add my group. One press puts everyone in your party or raid with no guild at the top of the list.
  • Welcome and check-in. New recruits land on the Joined tab. Welcome greets them in guild chat, Welcome all greets everyone waiting in one line, and a few days later the row offers a check-in whisper.
  • Classes we need. /torchcall need healers puts those players first with an opener that says what the guild is short of.
  • What works where. Contacts are counted by level band, class and hour. /torchcall stats tells you which ones answer and join most.
  • Recruiters' board. /torchcall board ranks every recruiter in the guild running Torchcall.
  • Who stayed. Recruits who joined a week ago are marked as still here or gone.
  • A horn when they join. Your recruit accepts: a horn, and their name across your screen.
  • Your words. Every message is editable in game with a live character count. Tokens: {name} {fullname} {level} {class} {zone} {guild}.

What it will not do

No "invite all", no "send to everyone", no hands-free mode and no timer. Those are the features that get recruiters reported. One press reaches one player. Built-in limits: 30 new people an hour (up to 60), 100 a day, 4 seconds between whispers.

Commands

  • /torchcall or /tcall: open the window
  • /torchcall search 10-20: search a level range
  • /torchcall class mage priest: only these classes
  • /torchcall next: whisper or invite the next player
  • /torchcall group: add your unguilded party or raid members
  • /torchcall need healers: classes the guild is short of
  • /torchcall warm: who answered and is still waiting on you
  • /torchcall stats, /torchcall board, /torchcall recruits
  • /torchcall help: the rest

Using it for another guild

The openers use {guild}, so they work anywhere. The answers describe The True Torchmen: rewrite them on the Answers tab.
