Time Played Tracker is the collector add-on for WoW Time Played. It records your character data to a file on your computer, which you can then upload to the website. It has no in-game display beyond the /tp command.
To see an example of what your data could look like, click View a sample on the website.
What it records
/playedtime for each character- Play sessions: start time, end time and duration
- Level-ups: level, zone and time
- Time spent by activity (open world, dungeons, raids, battlegrounds, arenas) and by character level
- Level, class, race, faction, gold, zone, guild, professions and quests completed
- Item level and achievement points, where the game client supports them
Your total /played time and current character details are recorded the first time you log in, including time played before you installed the add-on. Sessions, level-ups and time by activity or level can only be recorded from that point on, not retroactively.
How to use it
- Install the add-on.
- Log into any character you want to track. I recommend logging into each of your characters once after installing, so they're all included from the start. After that, tracking is automatic.
- Upload the file at wowtimeplayed.com. It updates when you log out or exit the game, and it's located at:
World of Warcraft\‹version›\WTF\Account\‹ACCOUNT›\SavedVariables\TimePlayedTracker.lua
Each World of Warcraft version (Retail, Forever, etc.) has its own file that can be uploaded. Ensure you have the add-on installed for each version of WoW that you play.
Privacy
The add-on doesn’t connect to the internet. It only saves data to a local file on your computer. Uploading the file to the website doesn't publish anything. Your data only leaves your computer if you choose to publish a public page, and you can delete that page at any time.
